parking for normal size vehicles that appears to be free/no limited hours along a bay with a park with volleyball courts, playground, small shallow bay water beach, restrooms (still open at 830pm), restaurants. cant imagine you'd be able to get away with sleeping here. it's just too perfect. although I see one vehicle that looks like a camper van. I myself will be going inland to look for a side street.

No overnight parking in the actual beach lot but there is a row of parking right outside the beach lot on Shore Blvd with no signs. I parked overnight with no problems and it looked like 2 other vans were boondocking as well.
Report Check-InNO CAMPING. We'd stayed a total of two nights (not consecutively) in January without issue. Unfortunately, on our third stay we were woken by police lights and a voice on the bullhorn telling us that campers had to clear out. Apparently, there's no overnight camping in your vehicle without a permit in the city of Gulfport. We chatted with the officer, who honestly couldn't have been more decent or sympathetic towards us, and he shared that this spot got burned because large Winnebagos were starting to park there, taking up 6 parking spots each, running generators AND letting their dogs take dumps on the beach without cleaning it up. It recently got to the point where the police chief just said screw it, clear out all campers. A reminder that it's so crucial to remain as low-key as possible and to respect the area we're in. Clean up after yourselves, learn the city laws and ordinances (i.e. in Gulfport dogs must be on a leash and aren't allowed on the beach) and be respectful or there just won't be anywhere left for us to go.
