Informal Van/Car Camping in parking lot of Mision Santa Maria Hotel. Security guards not too likely to accept you if your rig looks dumpy. Super fast free internet going about halfway out into the parking lot listed in the picture. Free bathrooms (not for showering), great restaurant, awesome nighttime bar, and simply stunning location that is OK for you to walk around. You must walk out to the dunes at sunset!

Nice, large resort-style hotel with restaurant and bar (we didn't go). More expensive than we anticipated-$1700 pesos as posted on wall. They were hosting an EXO Overland Expo, so hence the higher price. Gorgeous huge beach, littered with sand dollars. Beautiful view from oceanfront room. About 5 miles from town. Great stop before heading out into the wilderness. Huge parking lot, no pool, kids playground, beautiful grounds.
Report Check-InWe checked in with the front desk and they directed us to an area of their parking lot. We stayed one night. Parking area was lit with security roaming about and felt safe. Staff was very friendly. We had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and was good.
Report Check-InBe aware of theft my cargo box got broken into nothing stolen as I woke up. But in general good spot to stop if your burnt from the drive north. Excellent restaurant and bar with games and tvs also great staff.
Report Check-Inwe stay a few hours, very friendly staff, fast free wifi, we could stay overnight, if we do consumtion in the Restaurant, we wont, it was still empty around, no guests

I'm 99% sure they have dog friendly rooms (lots of people with dogs on leash walking around)
fast wifi that works in most of the parking lot, right on a nice beach & sand dunes.
I went in to reception to ask if I could camp in the parking lot and how much it would be and the desk agent said that it was free to park overnight & showed me where the washrooms were! Very welcoming.
