Description

You’ll drive on a dirt road for about 10 minutes but it’s super mellow and any car can make it. Amazing overlook. I’m from this area and have camped here in a vehicle many times

Beautiful view! but extremely busy and loud! stayed on a Tuesday and Wednesday, and there were people blasting music and yelling until 3am both nights. worth the stop but not the stay.

The road is now fully paved all the way up to the overlook at the top. Cars were still coming up to the top until about 11pm on a Sunday night but was quiet until morning. A cop made a lap later at the night and didn’t say anything. Incredible sunset views!

So first You'll drive up the mountain on a paved road for like 15 minutes and then hit a dirt road. At this time of year all the snow is melting and made the dirt road all muddy. We got stuck with our Mercedes sprinter, 2WD. Had to have a jeep pull us out of the mud. I do not recommend at this time of year. The way up looks amazing and I wish this spot worked out cause the views are amazing. You should be fine if you have a truck or jeep with 4WD.

Great place to stop if you want to ski at Sundance resort!

The way to get there is an easy road. however you can find some people with guns on the way that go there to play shooting. The place itself is not an official camping spot, it's just a pull out, but I arrived at night and left in the morning without anyone bothering us. Some cars passed at dawn but I had no problems. Verizon works with 2 bars. along the road there is an official free camping that you can stay for 14 days, but we didn't stay because there was no cell signal. Overall it's a great place with a nice view.
Ps: busy during sunset
Ps2: there was a rattlesnake in a bush near us. we didn't bother her and she disappeared right away.

Beautiful location tucked between the peaks. You still get some city glow, but it was very quiet and was a great spot for us to stop by for the night. Continue past the paved road and once you hit gravel, some of the dispersed sites begin to appear. We showed up close to sunset, so you can expect some car traffic around that time.
