Description

This is a great little park for a rest stop or lunch. There are signs that state no overnight parking or camping. There is a park gate, but it was open until late at night. There are trash cans, bathrooms and picnic tables (covered and shady or out in the grass) plenty of room for big rigs too. Signage posted to keep dogs on a leash and pick up after them.

Arrived late one night at the Amherst Provincial Park Campground, just a few km N-W of Northport. I was told the campground was full and they had no overflow, but they sent me here, to Northport Park. I had a small tent, and I placed it outside the picnic area. In the morning someone came to pick up garbage and clean up, they didn't say anything. There were also two elder gentlemen walking their dogs, we exchanged a few words, none of them was upset with me being there. I packed early in the morning and left, after a very quiet night.
