As I was up a hill on a curvy road looking for a place to stay, a local recommended this to me - just go through Stinson, up a hill, you’ll go around a curve and there will be a pull-off on the either side of the road but on one side there is a spring. There are stunning views of the water (sunsets) right across the street. Without getting too close to the road, I have 1 solid bar of Verizon LTE service.
This is right off of Route 1, a large enough pull-off to count as a solid place for a night. It is far better suited for vehicles/RVs, as it is close to the road/popular spring and is quite noisy at the moment (8:30PM). I got a relatively flat spot for my tent (no luck with stakes and it was quite windy, so I ended up tying my tent to my car…) but again, If you have a vehicle, you may be able to pull off more of an incline a little farther away. Be careful of the ditch at the base of the cliff as it is essentially the drain for the spring and is muddy (there is a concrete portion so you won’t come close to the water).

Beautiful parking spot with a natural spring coming from rock River. Bring your bottles and fill up with delicious spring water. Please please leave the place cleaner than you found it. The locals have put a lot of effort into keeping this up. Highly recommended. Spent one night - no knocks, no problems
Report Check-InPull off on the highway with a natural water spring. Bring your big bottles and fill them up! A local told me it comes from rock River. It’s delicious. And the locals have kept up the landscaping around this area. Please please leave it cleaner then you found it. Let’s keep this as a secret place for us to park.
Report Check-InBeautiful little spot to stay. The locals really take care of this natural spring source and have turned it into a shrine.
Plenty of room. It does get some traffic here and there, tons of traffic on New Years.
Beautiful spot.
I stayed one night.
If you can, leave a gift to the giving spring!

Neat little spot with a natural spring where people come get water all day and evening long. Lots of plants around due to the spring.
This seems alright for a night but not more than that since it is a popular spot where people are constantly stopping to grab water.
No Verizon reception. Somehow Starlink worked well here. Not sure how since there is a big mountain.
Report Check-InAmazing views but not a great spot to spend more than a night at. There is more parking across the street with a trail that brings you to the beach. (Verizon service is much better here)
Report Check-InLots of small pullouts in this area, we stayed a minute down from the springs at a paved overlook of the ocean. Quiet!
Report Check-InParked overnight in one of many nearby pull offs along the highway and had no problem.
Spring is beautiful and well maintained by the public.
Spend a quiet night here. We Cook until Sunset and then Fall a sleep. everything was fine.
Report Check-InSlept good and felt safe, 2 other vans near by. Good option north of SF.
Report Check-InStayed in the spring side to the far left. Lots of people coming by late into the evening and early on the morning to fill from the spring. Didn't bother us though. A couple of other vehicles stayed on the ocean side and they appear to have no problems. The spring water is great and very popular!
Report Check-InStayed for two nights and explored Stinson/Point Reyes during the day. Some friendly locals hung out each evening and a few stayed over too. Theres an unenforced no camping sign on the pullout across the street for the nude beach trail, but no signs on the spring side.
Report Check-InStayed here for one night. Like others have said there are no signs prohibiting parking and I didn't have any issues. This is a popular spot for getting water during daylight hours but was very quiet at night.
Report Check-InAs described by all the others.
Worked great for one night sleeping in a car and there is little wind compared to the pull-offs on the other side of the road.
The locals start pulling up at around 7:30 to fill up their water canisters at the spring, so it might get a little noisy, but no one complained.
Stayed in large pullout on Westside of road overlooking ocean, 1 night with other campers no issues, slight road noise, full ATT service, beautiful views
Report Check-InVery nice parking lot, not a lot of flat spots, so we went in the pull off just 200mt north on the ocean side. No one bothered us. Amazing view. Filled in our water tank at the source, water is really good. No t-mobile signal at the water source, one bar at the pullout where we slept.

like below. plenty of room for multiple rigs. natural spring is pretty popular so expect traffic but quiet at night. great spot to watch the sunset.
Report Check-InIt’s a nice spot off the highway. As previously said, expect a bit of people coming to fill their water bottles. Traffic dies down at night and I had a very restful night. I was the only one there on a Friday night.
Report Check-InNice spot right off 1. Room for several rigs. It is right at a public spring so expect locals/tourists to come and go frequently filling water. Blazing fast Verizon/ATT.

Damn if he didn’t hit the nail on the head, and there are stunning views of the water (sunsets) right across the street. Without getting too close to the road, I have 1 solid bar of Verizon LTE service.
