Located in the Daniel Boone National Forest, it is one of 2 free primitive campgrounds. Turkey Foot Campground, located on London Ranger District, is nestled along the banks of War Fork Creek in Jackson County. The road into the campground is fairly steep and may be unsuitable for vehicles towing large trailers. The creek is stocked with trout throughout the year. A playfield with a horseshoe pit is located at the end of camping sites alongside the creek. All of the campsites are wooded.
Each site is equipped with picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, and lantern pole. There is no water, electric or dump station available in the campground. All of the sites are within easy walking distance of the creek.

Free established campground in the London Ranger district
Fairly private sites. Beautiful wooded area. Flowing creek at foot of campgrounds.
Pit toilets, no water, pack-in pack-out
Please remove your waste!! Take care of this place
Fair amount of wildlife activity, help keep their homes clean!
Road not difficult to traverse, some potholes but more than manageable.
Not accessible after heavy rain.
Would stay again! Great site
As previously stated, this campground gets busy. Unfortunately, the day use area gets trashed, so we did a lot of trash pickup while we were there.
Sites 1 and 2 and 9 could potentially hold trailers (small) or vans. Our promaster fit perfectly on sit 9. Pit toilets were somewhat clean with toilet paper.
Water in the creek was low, but it was nice to wade in.
This particular week, the camp group cleared out on sunday (we were the only ones there).
FREE camping with no garbage can, so be prepared to pack out.
Beware that the road to get here is very rocky narrow steep road. The creek was very low but if coming in rainy season the bridge to cross could be 5 feet deep. As mentioned it is very busy, we didn’t get a spot to camp on a Friday afternoon. There are only 5 tent sites separated from the parking spot, you could sneak in a van in the parking spot but no RV would fit. Don’t get your hopes up this is a well known local spot. Otherwise if you’re lucky enough to get a spot here it is beautifully green! No internet but two bars of texting service for Verizon.
Report Check-InAwesome free campground in National Forrest. Pit toilets no t mobile phone service.
Report Check-InTook my newly built camper van here for the weekend to make sure everything worked as expected and work out any unforeseen bugs before I start doing longer trips. I just so happened to be pulling in as someone was leaving and all the campsites were taken except 1. I stayed friday - monday. The weekend was pretty noisy with vehicle traffic in and out until about 6pm on sunday then it was pretty quiet the rest of sunday and monday. Looks to be a very common weekender spot but nobody was there on monday except me. Has a nice long trail with a waterfall and some caves. Pit toilets only. Massively sized camp sites as you can see in my uploaded picture. If you look up the campground on usda.gov they have a map that shows the layout, where the trail is at, and other information. You will probably have better luck there on weekdays vs weekends if you prefer quiet.
