Great bushcamp directly at the Boteti River. Easy acces from the tarred road: take the cutline road (in Maps.me) to the Boteti River Road, go a bit north, then follow a sandy track 200 m down to the river. Accessible for big rigs. No Orange-signal.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
River completely dry at this time of the year. A few cows and donkeys, but very peaceful.
I walked across the dry riverbed. There is indeed a massive electric fence at the top of the far riverbank, which is just out of sight from the campsite.
Report Check-InAbsolutely beautiful and peaceful spot along the riverbank! You can drive along the riverbank and find a place that you like best. Visible and easy sandy tracks came from the Boteti River Road down to the river. Tyre tracks, but maybe at least a few days old. You can’t see a fence here at the other, Makgadigadi side. Great place! Few cows were around but left when we came.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot along the river. Open grassy area to camp. We didn’t camp at the exact spot where this takes you, you can find a spot anywhere along the river that suits you. Elephant, zebra and hyena came out at night
Report Check-InNice spot. River stagnant this time of year so we camped slightly further in to avoid mozzies. No signal. For whatever reason, someone is burning the forest just outside the turnoff. We put out one fire in case it spread beyond control as it was windy
Report Check-InBeautiful, peaceful spot on the river bank. Not a soul in site - just the cattle, a few horses and the goat bells in the distance. Feels like total freedom!
Thank you for sharing.
Back again after 3 weeks and still the best bushcamp along the Boteti. Easy acces also along the Boteti River Road from the south.
