Something not right?

Description

Nice cleared-out area with big fire pit with enough room for a group of 5-6 vehicles. Open area with nice views and very quiet. Directions are up the FSR called Giveout Cr Rd (just north past the Cottonwood Lake turnoff).
Drive for 2.3km up and you'll see the clearing on the right.
You'll see a fork at 1.7km, go left/up and into the clearing another 0.6km.

Good cell reception.
4WD recommended as there is a steep gravel access on the final ascent. FSR before that well-groomed.

Latest Check-Ins

attempted to get here, but the last section after the fork was too steep / gravel not compacted enough for our 2WD Ford Escape.
great cell reception and views on the way up.
dissapointed we didn't make it.
tried continuing on right at the Y but only a single pull-out at the creek.
Didn't stay

Thanks for the detailed descrption on how to get here. We had no problem finding the place. Had to go slow in our Westfalia coming up the FSR because the road is quite rough and steep enough, but we got there no problem. Always easier coming down.

Nice spoit, lots of room. We were the only ones there. A bit smoky today because of the forest fires, so the view is obstructed. Otherwise, great and close to Nelson.

Good cell reception.

Stayed here a few nights. Really nice spot with a great view, plenty of space and good service. As others have mentioned plenty of spots before and a few after I’m this FSR if this particular one is taken. Unfortunately someone has burned and left what appears to have been a large appliance or something so that’s a bit of an eye sore and would require a empty truck bed and dump run to dispose of.

Report Check-In

Plenty of room at the big turnout after 4 or 5 switchbacks. Good cell reception. The road did not require 4WD or high clearance, but there were some sharp rocks. Established fire ring and fantastic night sky

Well worth the 10 minutes or so drive out of town to stay here for the peace and quiet!!
Keep going a little bit longer on the road than you think and you'll find the open flat clearing with firepits and views!
We passed a few vans and other spots on the way up - if they had just gone another few minutes they would have found this nicer spot.

Report Check-In

Nice large opening along the logging road. Its quite steep at some place, road is not for the faint hearted. But we managed it with our Ram Promaster 2500. No amenities, just fire pits and peace. We stayed there two nights. Dont arrive too late.

Report Check-In

Chain across entrance. Some vehicles parked inside, but we were not able to access it. Also the entrance is a bit south of the coordinates.
