Paved road forks to a dirt road. Watch for washed out patches. View of the highway and gas station so it feels safe, but nobody around and pristine black sky so it feels remote. We stealth camped in our 24’ van. 4x4 not required but probably nice to have if it’s rainy.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
I don’t know if it’s this time of year or the weather, but don’t go in here unless you have four-wheel-drive. The sand is like quicksand even in places you can see where people have parked before. the towing companies do a lot of business here and you will be lucky to get towed out for less than $500.
Report Check-InAs described. Closer to the freeway that I'm getting 3 bars Verizon LTE - little to no freeway noise
