Parking lot with pit toilet next to the trailhead for a STEEP hike in the New River Gorge National Park. No signs against overnight parking. Might be tough with a big rig. Pretty level for a van.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Travelers beware: the only way in is a several mile long gravel road up and down hill. It was not too difficult but I imagine after a bad rain storm it could be much worse. Be careful taking a 2WD Car/SUV. Besides that, the place is beautiful. Full of ambient noises of river water, birds chirping, and the occasional freight train. Quite spacious and plenty of space to set up camp. Only about 20 minutes from the highway; would recommend for those traveling through the area.
