Description

Restaurant La Chiapaneca that welcomes campers on its parking lot. They have a large swimming pool and wifi! Very warm welcome. It's $300MXN per night for a van. They have clean toilets (with tp in the restaurant), cold showers and a water tap. The advantage is also that the restaurant is closed in the evening which allows a great calm night to sleep. Red macaws fly past around sunset. We stayed three nights in the shade of the big trees enjoying the pool and the ruins 3 km away!

We arrived on January 15 and could not fit through the entry. They had some scaffolding in place and not even our truck could go through. We passed by again on January 19 and they had opened it up a little more but I still don't think our trailer could have gotten through. Not sure how long they will be working on the entry structure. We ended up parking/camping at Hotel Nututun and it was a fine place to be, suitable for larger rigs with access to water and dump.

Report Check-In

arrived around 6:30pm no caretaker to be found, spoke to what seemed to be an existing guest who was able to get the owner on the phone, was quoted 350 pesos negotiated to 300 pesos. Internet didn't work. Couldn't have shower because water wasn't flowing. Showers (4 of them) were all dirty. Next morning water is working in only two showers but one of the two working showers has no shower head. Swimming pool was nice though.. only one of them usable at the time. Nice setting/scenery. Place could do with a bit of work but otherwise ok.

great spot to spend the night before visiting the ruins. you've got lots of choice for where to park, and the toilets and showers were decent.

the gate was locked when we arrived, but the caretaker ran over and opened it up for us. he was so nice! he didn't speak any English, and our Spanish is pretty bad, but we had a good chat using our translator apps. he is from Honduras and is waiting for his visa to come through to move to the USA, where his wife and two kids are already. He asked if we had any extra running shoes which we could sell to him, because they're so expensive to buy in mexico compared to the states or Canada. Unfortunately we didn't have any - if we would, we would have given them to him! so if you have any spare/old runners, maybe see if he wants them if he's still there when you visit!

Perfect location if you are a digital nomad. Jose was extremely helpful with my wife who runs an online yoga program. He provided a spot for her to teach in a quite spot overlooking ponds, covered by a pagoda and giving an open space to set up our Starlink. Also, provided her with a extension cord and fan to keep everything powered up and breezy. So no need for our generator. Wifi could have been ok, but maybe to far to use where she was teaching.

The camping spots are so so and the pool was being cleaned so not really usable but might be just because they were cleaning. MXN$700 for 2 nights which is high to what we are use to paying. Washrooms and showers were good and clean.

I think overall super accommodating, pretty good restaurant and very close to the ruins.

Owner (Elma) charged us a lot for very bad rooms. No fan, no aircon, no water. Camping area is inexistant. The whole place looks like abandoned and in very bad conditions. Won’t reccomend it.

Report Check-In

Truly great place, as described. Excellent food, absolutely worth its price - not cheap, but justified. Stayed 4 nights instead of the planned 1. Truly recommended

Report Check-In

Great spot near the ruins. Swimmingpool was very nice after a hot day in the sun.

Report Check-In

We spent 5 nights here. For sure the best option in palenque with rigs/big Rigs.
Very friendly staff, small playground, big nice and clean swimming pool. Banos and 2 basics cold pool shower.
Garden very clean with a little lake.
Monkeys and parrots around. Lot of ducks, roasters and chicken.
The huge restaurant is very good but a little expensive, and closed on the evening then the place is very quiet.
350 per night, 300 if you stay longer.
Combi every 5 minutes to town or ruinas

Very friendly owners and a pet friendly place too. We could leave our dog in the shade at the restaurant when we visited the zona archeologica the next morning. Keep your eyes open around sunset when lots of pairs of red macaws fly overhead. You'll hear them before you see them! And the pool was clean enough for us to take a refreshing dip!

We liked this place. Paid 300 for a big rig, 2 adults and 2 kids. We went swimming in one of the pools (other pool not usable) and it was good. They have some swings and a playhouse in the restaurant, water (low pressure), there are power outlets at the restaurant and a power line through the yard so just ask if you need it/or suggest it to them (power might not be clean though, worked for a while and then on and off). People were really nice and helpful. I believe the restaurant hours are 10-6.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for a night. 300pesos which is way too much for whats offered but we arrived late and not really any good alternatives in Palenque for a camper van. Restaurant food is good, you can use their (clean) Toilets at night. Lots of birds and a mini horse, pools were not maintained/usable when we were here...

Report Check-In

Payed 300p for 2 people with camper. Felt like too much but didn’t try to negotiate and payed since we arrived late after a stressful day. Place is beautiful though with lots of birds.

Report Check-In

Place as described but the pool was not open. We were charged 300 pesos per night and when we asked for a reduction of the prize because of the pool, the guy said no. Whe have been asked also to remote the rope used for the laundry. Disappointed!

Report Check-In

Nice parking lot of a restaurant. Clean toilets open the whole night. A lot of birds around as well as lightning bugs. 300 Pesos with access to good wifi. Shade under the trees. Safe and quiet. Close to the Palenque ruins. Friendly staff.
