Description

When we arrived at the port, passengers with vehicles had to drive the cars off first. Then we had to wait till all the other passengers were in the customs’ transportation bus. Afterwards, we had to follow the bus to the immigration office, where we did the (passenger) immigration. Then we had to drive back to the dock by our car. Next to the ferry is a small office/container from the shipping company (blue container, Mr. Nasar (he is Indian) will wait for you). There, you will get some documents (costs are around 150 USD) and a small paper, which describes the procedure’s steps (see picture). You can do it easily by yourself as most of the customs‘ staff speaks English and also knows what you have to do next. After each step you get told what to do next and where to go. At three different steps you have to pay a certain amount of money: 20 AED, 90 AED and 145 AED (last is related to your car). In total we paid 255 AED.

For the whole procedure (from car off the ferry to car out of main gate) we needed 3.5 hours.

Report Check-In

We took the passenger ferry from Bandar Abbas to Port Khalid. On arrival, we needed to hand over all our hand luggage to the port employee and get them back after the customs process. Against the official information, every person needs to do a PCR test on arrival (even kids who are older than 3 years).

The new customs terminal was not working properly, and they needed to take our passports to another place for validation because it was the first time we visited the UAE.

Because of the passport problem, it took us a long time for the immigration.

As the ferry is not working atm, we shipped our truck with Cargo and we took the plane. So the immigration of the persons were easily done at the airport.
The process of the truck in Sharja were a bit complicated and needed us over 4 h.
They send us from A to B etc. incl. xray and dog check.
Payments:
- 900 Eur Shipping
- approx. 150 Eur several fees incl. Agent
- 280 Eur Port fee
These are the prices for a 6x6 MAN truck with 18 tons incl. a quad bike, so smaller vehicles will be cheaper, I guess.
