Description

Update March 2022: There are now "No Overnight Parking" signs and we had a notice posted on our windshield by locals asking us to leave. We slept here a few times over several months and it was our go-to spot in Victoria but it seems the site has been abused and unfortunately shut down as with many similar sites. Pick up trash and never overstay your welcome!

Unlimited free parking with no signs prohibiting overnights all along the Lagoon waterfront. There are public washrooms open daily 8am-8pm at the marked GPS location on the southwest end of the land bridge across the lagoon. There are trash cans at regular intervals. There is a drinking water fountain by the bathrooms (no faucet hookup). There is 5 bars Telus LTE signal.
There appears to be a few locals/longer term residents staying but we had plenty of space, there are many places to stop and is room for pretty much any type of rig. There was minimal road noise despite being right by the road. There was some trash around so we did a pickup - if staying here, PLEASE bring a trash bag and do a 10 minute pickup to keep this place beautiful and maintained :)

Stayed here one night without any issues. Very beautiful location and ample parking. There was a group of locals out front of us from like 2pm - 10pm partying outside their cars for what seemed like forever but I guess that’s luck of the draw. The next morning an officer came by just to gently remind us about overnight parking and we respectfully left that evening to not be rude.

I parked overnight 2 times on the weekend without any trouble. Today I got a bylaw notice saying parking is forbidden from 1 hour after dusk to dawn.

Nice spot to spend the night, had no trouble at all!

Report Check-In

the Park closed 1 h till down/dusk, no parking allowed, it seems like is difficult to Park overnight just in front the park, people dont want that, we dont want this risk, but we saw 2 other campers on this place

Got the boot last night. A notice was tucked under my wiper saying the Colwood peninsula was closed from dusk til dawn with only a one hour parking limit at night. Really unfortunate because this spot was amazing.

Had angry locals give us a talking to for parking here for one night and another guy we talked to said he got booted out by collwood patrol mid day, threatening to ticket him. Seems this spot has potentially been overused and locals are taking action. There are “no overnight parking” signs on every garbage bin too

very beautiful spot for the day. Signs saying do not stay 1 hour after sunset/ no overnight

Report Check-In

Loud traffic noise late night & early morning. Tankers waiting in the water had a constant diesel engine hum, on the bright side the washrooms were surprisingly clean.
