Description

Multiple spots available a little further up on Juniper Flats Rd than previous post. These coordinates take you a little further off the road, so a bit more secluded, and great view. Lovely sunset! Great AT&T signal and one bar for Verizon. Our van is 24 feet long and fit easily. A bit bigger rigs can fit if you know how to maneuver them well.

yep, good spot. tress provided a nice wind break. far enough away from the radio towers geared down to make it up the steep stretch. definitely worth getting to the top.

So nice and quiet! The road up isn’t bad at all, we easily drove our van and parked at one of three, maybe four spread out spots. In the trees, beautiful views and sunset.

I would Never do this road at night or in the rain. I wanted to bail but had no space to turn around. There is no quick escape if trouble happens. I seem to be the only one here. The views are great, but it's a bit too much of a scary and remote road for me.

One of my new favorite boondocking spots! You really can't beat the views, and on a
hot day the weather up here is fantastic. Certainly a steep climb but my 24ft skoolie was able to do it, and I think it's well worth it. Lots of friendly folks up here. Excellent Verizon service. Plenty of room for everyone, if you don't see a spot you like then keep going a bit more up the hill. The views get better and better, and if you made it here then you've already made it past the steepest part :)

Prior comments are spot on. Wrote a steep and gravel, but can easily be made. We had a pick up in a pop-up and got into the site with no problem. Our only note was that one of the sites was literally trashed. Garbage, broken, bottles, paper, etc. We cleaned it up, but it took 2-30 gallon trash bags to haul it out. Hopefully that’s not a common occurrence. 0ne other item is that it does get windy just before dusk, so making campfires can be questionable.

super endroit. bonne montée en gravel. promaster 2 roues motrices sans problème. une tranquillité et une vue à couper le souffle

Excellent place to stay. It’s a steep dirt road but our Ram Promaster did great. We stayed almost 2 miles up from the paved road in a spot on the left. Fantastic mountain views and sunsets/sunrises. Very quiet and peaceful. We saw a few other campers come and go during our 3 nights here. All smaller rigs, vans, truck campers and tent campers. AT&T signal was strong. We would definitely stay here again.

We drove up to the first cluster of comm towers scouting the sites. The drive is as described, steep switchbacks but relatively smooth gravel. I wouldn’t do it in the dark but that may be just me. Easy turn around at the comm towers and we picked a great spot with nice views. Awesome sunsets. We spent two nights Only a few other campers up there this weekend. Did have a near incident walking the dog off leash when we came across a small group of javelinas. Luckily she listened when I stopped her.

The best location on Juniper Flats. Amazing views over Bisbee all the way to Mexico and the Sonora Desert.

Report Check-In

Stayed about 1/2 mile before the tower sites on one of two side-by-side ~60’ length pull-offs on the left hand side of the road. Great views, light traffic (seen 3 cars in the last 12 hours) and 2 bars of LTE on ATT.

Great place just as advertised. Car can make it.

Possibly our favorite boondocking spot ever.

Amazing views. Not every spot has them, but it's worth finding one that does! The best ones are facing South, i.e. left side of the road when driving up. The mountains are gorgeous all day, but especially at sunrise.

Lots of spots. Relatively speaking, there's a good amount of space up there. we didn't count but I bet about a dozen RVs could find a spot. When we stayed there in March there were about 6-10 other vans, motorhomes, and trailers spread out.

Great privacy. Each spot is pretty isolated from the others. Some are kinda like pull through where you might be near another camper, but never on top of each other.

Stargazing. The night sky is so clear! Very little noise pollution or clouds. Some of the best views of the constellations we've seen anywhere.

Plenty of places to walk a dog. We didn't find any real "trails" within walking distance, but there's plenty of space to walk up and down the main dirt road, like to the radio towers (also an incredible vista). And there's almost no traffic, so it felt super safe to walk our dog around there.

It's a hike, though! It took us about 15 minutes to drive very carefully up to our spot. We have a 27' Class C with no tow car and we might not have even got the nerve to try it had a 36' Class A not exited the dirt road right as we pulled up. I'm not saying they had an easy time, but it's certainly doable for bigger rigs. Not every spot is suitable for that size, though.

Downtown Bisbee is SO cute. Definitely do the mine tour and the magic show! And the bakery, Patisserie Jacqui, was amazing. Like, not just for a small town, but for anywhere in the country. Parking downtown was a challenge though. The main lot just past the mine wouldn't let RVs stay (we spotted some vans), but we lucked out with a big lot behind the "copper man" statue, right beside a church and some other municipal building that looked closed on the weekends. Right next to "Superior Court" in case it's helpful to other folks. FWIW Class B's will have a pretty easy time parking downtown.

Also, the internet was good enough to work remotely for a week, but not great. Video calls were fine (good upload), but streaming Netflix was pretty bad. ATT was our best option, compared to T-Mobile and Visible.

All in all a fantastic stay! Would absolutely recommend this spot, and Bisbee in general.

Report Check-In

There is heaps of dispersed camping up the road around here. Sadly, lots of trash and surface poos/tp, too. Spent about two hours cleaning up my spot on arrival. Sometimes rent for living on public land is a full kitchen trash bag as a souvenir.

Quiet and the view of Bisbee is incredible! About five other groups were camped out up here. Nighttime was windy - too windy for a fire.

Sadly, my pup ate something awful and got very sick. We ended up at the Sierra Vista Vet instead of getting to stay for a few nights.

We went even further past this pin and also had a great spot, off the road, with a killer view. The first pin is basically a pull-out next to someone’s home. Keep going and you shall be rewarded! Two bars of LTE on ATT. Free!
