Description

People on one side of the road, vehicles on the other

If entering Peru use the Cambio as there are 2 toll stops between here and the next ATM heading south to Puerto Mad

There is a place just next to the aduana to exchange money and do Soat. Look for Tuka.

Peru to Brazil
Very quick border crossing. At the Sunat they ask for your tip and in the meantime you can get your exit stamp in the building at the left side. At the right side there are restaurants to change your last soles to reals.

Very fast entry into Peru coming from Brazil. First the immigration on the building in right side and the aduana in the corner crossing the street. You’ll just need passport and car documentation. There is no need of copies anymore. People very nice and friendly.

When I got to Inapari to checkout of Peru their system had been down for 7 days - they sent me back 80km to San Lorenzo to get exit stamp, then returned to Inapari to hand in TIP and cross to Brazil.
So - lesson learned. Travellers heading North to Brazil and exiting Peru - checkin at Immigration San Lorenzo and ask if Inapari immigration is functional or not. It will save you 160km of double back riding/driving.

A tree cut the câble of internet so we had to wait like 2h but as everyone said. Fast, give the tip when you arrive and immigration. They told us first to go to the border next to bolivia but you will have to pay the toll again so for us it was better to wait.

Exit from Peru was straight forward: 1. Hand in TIP, 2. Go bit further to the migration office to get stamped out.

Don't expect to use your remaining soles on gas, they didn't have any available when we tried to fuel up. But there are plenty of cambios in town.

Report Check-In

Open again since 14.02.22. We needed proof of Covid needed vaccination (preferred electronic version) and filled out a Sanitary form there.
Those who are not vaccinated need a PCR test not older than 48 hours.

Entering Peru from Brazil. Easy and friendly process. Regarding your vehicle it’s helpfull if you have a copy of your passport and vehicle registrations. They will collect this. If you don’t have copies, the restaurant/ store next door can make copies against payment.

Do not roll up and expect to camp in town. At this line they will take the TIP and you enter no-mans-land if you don’t go across to Brazil. When we arrived and said we wanted to park in town and do paperwork the next morning we were told NO. If you go into town, you submit the TIP. If you want to go back out of town, you must get a new TIP. Since Brazil required entry/exit stamp to have same date, we opted not to relinquish TIP. Parked at Centro Recreativo for a night.

Salida from Peru. Quick, just stamp to passport. On Aduana nothing.
Opening is 24 hours.
But on Brazil boarders is opening time at 8 a.m., so you should plan your entry to Brazil not at night.
