MODERATOR NOTE: Place removed because camping is illegal here. Signs posted and enforced
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
There is now a large sign that’s states no overnight parking/camping unless you are with the rodeo.
Report Check-InThe city does not want folks staying here anymore. Law enforcement came around to spread the message. Got a knock around 1:30am. Officers were very kind and understanding.
Report Check-InCLOSED. Well as far as I can tell. Both this lot and the ski lot had signs saying no parking 12am - 4am As well as all throughout town. Maybe an ordinance change? Wasn't willing to chance it and kept moving.
Report Check-InJust 4 rigs tonight. The sound of the morning snow cat grooming the ski jump grounds next door was rather calming for this snowboarder. Very nice public restroom a 6 min walk across the river on 7th St. Please be respectful , clean up trash, and preserve the use of this lot.
Report Check-InSpent a peaceful night here last night, my sprinter tucked in among about a dozen vans, campers and RVs. Flat, quiet. Got a late start this morning—it was 9 and all the others were gone—and a community officer knocked on the door to tell me that, despite rumors to the contrary, overnight parking in this lot is actually not legal. He said it was for snow plowing reasons and he agreed that there were no signs posted saying this, which is why he was just knocking to let people know. He said the town is working on clarifying and establishing an alternative, but that for now, technically, overnight parking is not permitted anywhere within the city limits; you have to drive out to the county where you can stay on any public land for 3 days.
Report Check-InStayed one night, quiet, safe and within easy walking distance to town. Would definitely stay again.
Report Check-InA bunch of other campers here. Park in the lot between the arena and the rodeo. No washroom or water. No “no overnight parking sign”.
Report Check-Inkinda busy and noisy with inconsiderate neighbors sometimes. the lot to the north is much quieter
Report Check-InStayed a night here after the storm. Plenty of people camping in the lot the roads were a mess all over but it was plowed and packed down found a decently flat spot to park. basically dead silent most of the night. Decent amount of room and close to stores and food. Would definitely spend more time here
Report Check-InParked here over Christmas weekend to ski, Nice and close to the slopes, clearly ok to stay here as there were like a dozen other vans. Has a portapotty.
Report Check-InI believe the posted location is a bit off. The area seems to be a bit to the S/E if the gps location. If you enter like going to the ice arena but go to the right after the sign there's a gravel lot I believe is the spot. anyway we stayed there a night and it was a good place with easy walk to check out town.
Report Check-InStayed here for 3 nights without any problems, staff was friendly. Clean toilets, super close to downtown, bike trails and anything else you’d imagine. Some other smaller campers here during some nights but I was mainly by myself.
Report Check-InGood spot for a night but be “bear aware” at night. This bear was just a few feet from my Van around 9pm
Report Check-InVery nice town for mountain bike, hiking, restaurant and more. This spot give you acces to all of that.
There is some mountain bike course in the morning for kids around 9:00. If you still there you will ear it. We stay here in week days, it was calm for the night.
Large lot on the “trailer side”. About ten different rigs parked overnight here, no signage, no knock.
