Decent little spot on the side of the 101
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Camped here three nights on the access road to the parking area along the bushes. Great view ! Whales feed there at high tide. Lots of people camping and some look like they’ve been here a while. Be smart and don’t make a mess. Keep these places available to the nomads :)
Report Check-InBeautiful spot. Very quiet. Washrooms open all night. Signs say no camping but we had no problem
Report Check-InVery nice spot to spend a night. Wonderful views of the ocean and wildlife. No one bothered us. There were several vans and cars spending the night.
Report Check-InLarge pull off, stayed overnight in a van, no one bothered us. There were several other vans and small campers. Signs that say no camping, none say no overnight parking. Bathrooms are open all night with flush toilets.
Report Check-In“Day use only” sign posted at lot entry but there are five other rigs obviously camping. Seems to be that they don’t enforce it. The lot is HUGE for a scenic pull out area. So huge that you can barely hear traffic on the adjacent Hwy 101 toward which there is no tree noise buffer. Bathrooms well lit outside at night. This is a great find.
Report Check-InThis is a wonderful location, overlooking low rocky bluffs into the ocean, with great views of the sunset, and far enough from the highway that you hear more of the surf than the road noise. We've stayed here on several occasions in our van, usually along with about half a dozen other vans, SUVs, and truck campers. I would say the length limit is around 24 feet without taking up multiple spaces, and there's probably room for about 15 vehicles if it were to fill up. There are "day use only" signs, but we've never been bothered. The area, I believe, doubles as a state rest area, and there is a restroom on site which may close in the evening. (We never checked.) This is also a good whale watching location; we've seen a few gray whale spouts during our evenings here. The surf is extremely rough and dangerous, and there is no beach access.
Report Check-InDay use pull out only. Came here to park overnight but doesn’t seem like it’s allowed.
Report Check-InA great place to stay - large pull out, paved with lots of rigs staying overnight, clean toilets, with cliff top view from our RV of humpback whales immediately below
Report Check-InVery nice view on the Pacific, we fell asleep on the sound of the waves, but were wake up on the sound of trucks passing by our van. Lot of trafic early in the morning. Still a very nice place to stay a night. We could see about 10 whales in the morning!! :)
Exploravan, Québec - Costa Rica!
Report Check-InGreat overnight spot, about 10 vans here and it looks like vanlife has taken over Boiler Bay lookout. Clean bathrooms.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot that we try to overnight at once or twice each year when we visit the Oregon coast.
Report Check-InGood pull off with full bathroom available 24/7! Lots of other RVs and camper vans just staying the night.
Report Check-InBeautiful view of the ocean while picnicking at one of the dozen picnic tables here (most have bird droppings on the seats and tables, so do what you feel is best when eating food atop these surfaces). Approx. 20 parking spots for cars, and a few big rigs can park here. Bathroom has flushing toilets and running water with soap and paper towels (BYO TP and hand sanitizer, in case they don’t replenish during the day). Highway noise is moderate, slightly drowned out by the ocean waves hitting the boulders. Didn’t see any “No Overnight Parking” signs, but signs clearly posted say “Day Use Only.” Garbage bins are small; try not to overstuff them. Keep clean and leave the space better than you found it!
Report Check-InSigns that say day use 6-10 but no signs in parking lot that say no overnight
Beautiful view. Lots of people during sunset but only 1 or 2 cars came through after.
Far enough away from highway that I didn’t hear much noise. The ocean sounds beautiful. One other van staying here.
Peaceful stay with the sound of the ocean, plenty of spots to park, no “no overnight parking” signs, just “no camping”. Bathrooms are clean & open overnight when we stayed.
Report Check-InPretty busy with cars throughout day, but a nice place for the night. If you’re looking for good coffee head over to the Pirate Coffee Company and get a Spicy Wench. Highly recommend!
Report Check-InDecent little spot on the side of the road in the national forest about 4.5 miles up from the 101
Report Check-InLocated just north of Depot Bay. On bluff overlooking the Pacific . All paved, level , bathroom. Stay up to 12 hours. No NOP signs.
