Description

Great place to camp. No facilities, just miles of sand dunes.
Very fine sand on the dunes and it will get into everything. Road doable with 2wd as long as it has not been raining.
It was not windy when we camped, but can get very windy with a bit of protection from the same dunes, depending on wind direction.
No facilities.

Nice quiet place to spend the night. Not much to look at other than sand dunes and sea marsh. Access was easy. Didn’t need 4wd, but engaged it anyways just to feel manly. I would imagine it would be necessary after rain or if you tried to park too close to the ocean.

Love this place!

There is a sweet dog that roams around, or at least he was when I was here. He is literally starving, I saw him eat some bush and gave him some doggie food. He was totally dehydrated too, please give him some food and water if you see him. (Check photo! He looks like a German Shepard)

Sand dunes- 100% great spot to camp. 4WD not needed on hard pack. No coyotes. Minimal trash compared to other post reports. Picked up a bag of things still. Safe and great spot for our dog!

Beautiful location. Good roads leading to the dunes. Plenty of options for parking. Many locals and sightseers in the area. Tried to drive closer to the dunes in our short skoolie but got stuck, so we stuck to a good spot a little further from the sand.

Lovely spot for a night or two. Close to the highway. As others have mentioned, hard packed sand for the most part. There were some soft spots, but I didn’t need to engage 4x4. It would likely be a different story after rain.

The North side near the dunes seems to have much less trash than the South end. There is a military base very close by. I was on my nightly walk when the militia drove through. I could see them using goggles/binoculars with lights to get a closer look at what I was doing. Didn’t feel unsafe, I actually liked that they came by to check things out. They kept driving closer and closer to me as I was walking along a big road loop, but then eventually did a three point turn and left.

Lots of locals stop by during the day to explore the dunes or have picnics. But it was still very quiet!

stayed here 2 night. Great stop before Guerrero Negro. Many local come here for picnic and walk the dune. The leave at sunset and you can have du e to yourselves. couple of other overlanders had also stopped. pay especial attention to where you park as tide an change a lot. Great T Mobil cell signal. I had to pull a localkids truck out as his 2wd truck got stuck in sand.

Nice spot just north of Guerrero Negro. Marshy with lots of sand dunes. Really popular with the locals daily. We had to help two locals get unstuck. They were very appreciative. There was lots of litter so picked up a large bag full.

Description as others give. Really nice place to stay the night but on approaching the dunes some old barbed wire was laid across the road. I picked it up and moved off the track but this would not be seen in dim light. Keep alert for it, perhaps potential for a flat tire eventually if not immediately.

Be very careful not only with the tide but potentially soaked ground. We got stuck pretty badly

Quiet spot with a view of the tidal flats and the dunes. Very flat and 2 bars of LTE. A couple of OHVs played around on the dunes but they left when the sun went down. Great sunset

As described already; interesting sand dunes, so glad I stopped here to hike the dunes then tuck in behind one for a wind break. Slept with no disruptions.
