Description

8 Mile Road is a couple of miles east of the Gov Wash road. You will encounter fewer people, but the road is a bit tougher. Some washboard, holes, and dips. Some clearance and 4-wheel drive in spots is handy. We took it slow with our heavy truck camper. Plenty of spots to camp with a couple of cut-off roads. Not very many people back here, but plenty of evidence (trash). Saw a few coyotes. 7 day stay limit

Spaced out campsites. Free with pass. No amenities.

Able to access pretty far down with just a van. Clearance is the issue more than traction. There are plenty of spots to pull off and camp for the night.

Boondocking at Lake Mead. Very quiet Very serene. Plenty of space between sites.

Wrong place and won't let me delete. Sorry

Report Check-In

Camped down 8mi road. One serious dip and one off camber section. No trailers or long units after the upper section. Some cars did drive in and out. Watched one get stuck near the water. Stayed 3 days very quiet, no one else around great cell reception and starlink service. Government wash seemed like where all the big units hung out much busier there.

I found a beautiful spot before the spot given here. Not too many people here. Good Verizon service. The road had some sandy spots, but they were easy to dodge even in an RV.
