Lovely camp, as described and with truly lovely managers. Nicely maintained and very good ablutions.
Can’t help but feel it’s still over priced for what it is though. Yes it’s a beautiful location inside the national park, but with park entry fees it costs over $100 for two people to camp for one night!
Other reviews here talk about a rock pool for cooling off, plus a lounge/bar area. There was none of that available during our visit - presumably because the lodge is now off limits to campers..?
Also it’s a bit misleading to say NO tsetse flies or mosquitoes in camp. There aren’t too many but this is still Kafue NP, I still got bitten in camp!

Report Check-In

Great camp in the Kafue NP. Neat and tidy right on the river. One of the best bush camps we’ve stayed at. Firewood provided, hot showers in really unique ablutions. $30 pppn.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot along the Kafue river, with new ownership since beginning of 2023. Quinten and Tessa are doing a great job and are very hospitable. Also accessible for larger rigs (ask for campsite 5). Website will be renewed soon, use [email protected] or Tessa’s mobile 0979668343 (Whatsapp) to reach out

Report Check-In

The camp is beautifully situated on the Kafue River. The place with the toilets and showers is very lovingly designed and maintained. There is no electricity. WiFi available on request at the reception. $30/ppn including firewood for camping.

Report Check-In

Highly recommended! We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Thank you Boyd, Libby and Andy. The campsite is well managed, clean and tidy. Paid $25pppn this included firewood. Andy knows the river well, takes his time and makes one feel at ease navigating through the rocks and channels. River trip $30pp. We did not feel the camp fee is too high for its position and what one gets in return. The rock pool was a welcome relief in the heat. The lodge offers full board and the lounge/bar area is stunning. We heard lion and saw 6 of them 1.5k’s from the camp on the morning we departed. We had the camp to ourselves but one can still have privacy if there are more people. We decided to extend our stay to 4 days and moved to the bush camp for the last day. There are no facilities here except a long drop. This is what we would call ‘wild camping’. Its about 700m from the main camp but one is utterly alone with the animals, birds, river and bush. Andy and Libby add a special touch to Kasabushi, thank you for sharing your space. 10/10 camp.

Very nice

Report Check-In

Great campsite with pitches on river, donkey lit at 6am and 4pm. here in August, no flies or mosquitoes in camp. can do river tours also

Report Check-In

Amazing campsite! No Tsetseflys in the camp although they are around in this area a lot. Andy and Libby are extremely nice hosts. Did a boat trip on the Kafue river, which was nice. The showers might be the best I have ever seen. A lot of elefants, lions and game around the camp. Firewood for free.

Report Check-In

Amazing campsite in Kafue NP. We had a spot directly at the river. Best shower in Africa. Andy and Libby are great host.

Report Check-In

We didn’t stay, 25$ dollars for a campsite with no electricity, no grass, no water at the site seemed steep. Yes its prime location but we stayed at other sites in Zambia that offer way more for a lower rate.

Report Check-In

Andy and Libby have one of the best campsites we experienced in Africa. The location is stunning, all facilities immaculately clean and well-maintained. Yes the waterfall showers are awesome. All sites are spread out so everyone gets to enjoy peace by the river. There is limited wifi, a water supply, boat cruise with Andy a must, Boyd is the attendant and he gets on quietly with his work. Rate is $25pppn but you get what you pay for. The lodge 500m away is stunning too, such a beautiful stretch of the river this camp enjoys.

Report Check-In

We had a great stay at Kasabushi Camp. Owners Andy and Libby Wilson are wonderful hosts and their staff is extremely helpful and professional. The campsite overlooked the Kafue River and was in a shady, grassy area of the property, just a short walk from the artistic (think Salvador Dali!) ablution facilities. There was decent WiFi near the owners' cottage/reception. We did a self-drive game drive on some nearby loops in Kafue NP and saw various animals (we missed them, but lions had been seen the day before). We also bought a sundowner river cruise, with Andy expertly negotiating the rocks and hippos in that gorgeous part of the river; we stopped on one of the islands to watch the sunset and enjoy our refreshments. While we just camped, we did see the lodge, which is a beautifully furnished and stylish structure that opens onto a scenic riverbend. Libby and Andy were great hosts and made us feel like visiting friends. They were generous with helpful advice and good conversation. We have warm memories of our stay at Kasabushi.

Without a doubt, the best campsite in the park. Both the facilities and the location are stunning, it's one of those places that's worth staying a few nights, if you can instead of just one or two. A good place to relax, unwind and re charge or to explore and discover. To their credit, even on the busy and popular holiday weekends, Andy and Libby dont overcrowd the place and they make sure that all the guests have plenty of their own space. It's no wonder that it's one of the most popular campsites.

Very good canp site, good location and very neat and clean

Report Check-In

Serene place at the kafue river, a place to relax and enjoy the bush.
We had a wonderfull stay at the lodge. The views are stunning, the roundhouse impressive and the hospitality of Andy and Libby heartwarming.
I definitely recommended both the lodge and the campsite. You might not see a lot of animals this time of the year but know they are there! We had fighting hippos on the grass and in the river in front of the round house and we ran into a leopard on our way to the campsite!

Report Check-In

As described very nice campsite, After having a discount for 15$ ppn we decided to stay 2 nights. If their generator is on you can have Wi-Fi. No cellular signals. Park fees per day: 20$ entering, 30$ big rigs (15$ for cars up to 3 tons), 5$ concil levy. You have to leave the park until 9:00!!! the next day.
You almost don't see animals along the road at this season.

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights at this wonderful campsite. Very clean and nice hot showers and great views over the river. We where the only ones camping here and the owners are lovely people! The boatcruise over the Kafue river is beautiful and you can do a game drive(with you're own vehicle) into the national park.
Yes it is pricy but a beautiful campspot!

Report Check-In

The place was exactly how everyone described it..... except:
Judging from the reviews and pictures, we excepted a serene and peaceful environment to enjoy, also particularly looked forward to the 'private' waterfall shower. However, one an hardly enjoy ANY of this if you are sharing the Small campsite with 22 other people. What made this even worse was that we booked in advance, and got a conformation email stating that we have secured a spot. However, upon arrival we were offered what was clearly not a regular campsite squeezed in between 2 thorn trees. We actually had tie back the trees to prevent ourselves from getting scratched.
The worst however was the deceitful attitude of the owners as it was clear what happened: a large group decided to stay another night, and they said sure, let's make another buck. So just know that your reservation MEANS NOTHING.
Furthermore, later that afternoon 4 huge overland trucks arrived, and they were also horrified. It later turned put that the owner lied to them as well and said that they are squashed into the site as we just arrived without a reservation. Just incredible.
This camp is not cheap, with park fees and the 25US per person. It was an utter dissappointment and a great example of how not to operate a hospitality business. As one of the German tourists said : "well it is easy. Now we just never come again". "
Agreed.

very nice places on the riverside. when we were there no hippos were around.
Very nice ablutions everything is very clean. If you thought you have seen the most beautiful showers. Come here. Your shower is like an artificial cave. It's like standing under a warm waterfall looking right up to the stars. Phantastic.
Firewood included. Very nice and helpful people. Andy, the owner can give you very good hints, what you can do. And you may use his boat for a ride on the river.
Camping US$ 25 ppn. plus parkfee US$ 20 pp plus car US$ 15 plus levy for overnight US$ 5ppn. I complain that is by far too much. For one night two person camping you pay at least US$ 115 and you have to pass the 90km to the next gate before 11am. Otherwise you pay another US$ 55 !!!
One star minus because of the pricing system.

The pricing in this park should be seriously reconsidered.
