Description

Officially a place for events. But when there are no events they let people camp there. Big roofs to put your tent or van under.
Price 5 dollars a person. Simple and basic, probably the cheapest way to stay in Cuco.

No wifi, but Claro connection. Flush toilets and showers. Restaurants and small shops on walking distance.

Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the journey is worth it. Nobody cares about you on this meadow, you pay 10 US. Pool is and remains empty during the week. The place offers plenty of shade. Big rigs fit through the gate, but it is narrow and unfortunately there are sharp-edged buildings on both sides. There are a lot of stinging animals. There are showers at the empty pool, the rest of the sanitary facilities are very, very simple. at night it is dark and quiet. You can hear the sea roaring, the beach is shadeless, black sand and endless.

Perfect and peaceful place at least from Monday to Wednesday. They’ve built a roof so we could park under to avoid sun and rain at night. 5$ pp

Probably the most economic option to stay in Cuco. Because the general prices in Cuco are ridiculous for overlanders.

I paid 5 dollar for 1 person. I could put up my tent wherever I wanted. I did put my tent and bicycle in one of the open buildings with a roof. Out of the rain and into the shade. Everything felt super relaxed here. Definitely worth a early stop of the day or even a more nights.

It’s simple and basic, but that’s all I needed. No WiFi, but good connection with Claro internet.

We went here but ended up not staying as there was construction and it was just a flat field by the beach. They asked for $10.

This place no longer accepts RVs. We went down the road to El Pelicano

Report Check-In

Large grassy area with assess to beach and restaurants. $10 night for two people. We were able to fill our water in our trailer and hook up to electricity. Hosts kept to themselves however were available if needed.

Great spot! We stayed there 2 nights during the week with our two girls. We are with a 24 foot motorhome. 10 USD/night. We were able to connect to electricity. The beach is accessible within 100 m. Infrastructure providing shade. Toilets and showers correct. Super quiet until Saturday morning when the employees start preparing the Saturday fiesta. We left in the morning.

Tom, the owner, also owns the hotel La Tortuga verde about 1 km. We were able to release baby turtles. Check on their facebook. They are releasing often.

We came during the week and were the only ones. Such a nice and relaxed place right on the gorgeous beach! Instead of one, we stayed to nights. Clean toilets and showers (indoor & outdoor). 10$ per night. Lots of space for several campers (probably not on weekends though).

The owner runs also the beach club ‘Tortuga verde’ a few meters down the beach. Good place for pizza and drinks during Happy Hour (4:30-6:30pm). The owner Tom can also give helpful tips for border crossing.

We paid 5$ pp. Very good spot with the beach close by. Better stay here on weekdays since they throw big pool parties during the weekend. Outdoor showers and bathrooms were okay.

We absolutely adored our stay here, came for 1 night, stayed for 3. $5pp on a grassy lot, 2 indoor showers, 3 outdoor showers, 5 clean toilets, plenty of picnic tables, beach view and access, totally quiet. WEEKDAYS ONLY, they host a pool party on weekends. They empty the pool during the week, but maybe if there were a few overlanders, everyone could chip in to fill it. There’s a massive sink for washing, a big concrete open building for hanging your hammock or chilling out in the shade with plugs everywhere. The family keeps to themselves in their own space. The waves are tiny, great for swimming and true beginner surfing. Wooden gate, no sign we saw. Only downsides are no shade for parking (it was nice and breezy though!) and no wifi (good cell reception). We had an A+ experience here!

La Tortugas Verde no longer received R.V. but their partner El Pélican ok for $5 per night electricity included. But no WiFi.
