Beautyful place, but it is only nice, when you are alone. There is not enough space for two or more campers. It is very (!) steep to get there! 10 US$ pPpN. You can book a bird walk!

Report Check-In

Wonderful little spot. Cottages are clean, with electricity from solar, and plenty of hot water, all situated in the forest surrounded with small gardens and lots of foot paths. Enjoyed an early morning bird walk with their expert birder and the peace and tranquility of being in nature.

Beautiful spot and views! We stayed inside the cottage with our camping stuff, no mosquitos. Nice hot shower. Unlimited free firewood and use of brai stand. Sadly the option to camp will not be possible past 31st December 2023 as Ken has sold the cottage and garden used for camping. He asked us to update on here, please no campers past this date. He hopes to create a new campsite in the future.

Still everything as described.
Power is sometimes available, however only 160V.
I would recommend max 1 party with not more than 2 vehicles.

We contacted the owner via WhatsApp and everything was clean and arranged when we arrived. Check their website for the contact numbers.

Really nice and peaceful place to stay. All that has been written below is still correct. Bathroom and kitchen can use a good clean up, but the cottage, the hot water and the provided firewood are really pleasant and useful, because it can get quite chilly. Hikes can be arranged with one of the guides. Levelling your car is a challenge though, so bring some blocks. There isn't a lot of space to camp with many campers because of this. But if you also use the driveway and the corner before the cottage we guess there is room for two or three cars in total.

Beautiful place, quiet, just birds and monkeys around. Exceptional views from the camping plot, towards MOZ. We could use the old (and epty) "crimsonwing" structure for bathroom and solar shower, and as a huge shelter during rain. Firewood and braai provided, bird walks with local expert Buluwezi 5ppph. Owner Ken is very friendly and helpful, free Wifi at reception (uphill). Currently no power at campsite because lightning has hit.

Camping in a magnificent indigenous forest with wonderful birds. There is an old house that provides hot water, shower and toilet (without paper). There is a fridge but power is very irregular so don’t count on it. You can sleep on the floor of the house if you wish. When we arrived there was a thick layer of dirt and dust but a broom was provided for cleaning.

Had a very pleasant stay here. Great tar road arrives only 2km from reception. The use of the old cottage was very handy specially when it was raining. Indeed I don't know if they clean it very frequently but still better than many ablution blocks in several campsites. Tap water comes from a spring so is safe for drinking. Not real Econet network but from time to time we got some WhatsApp messages. Free wifi at reception area working very well (about 400 meters from camping area). Firewood provided. Hot showers are solar. Electricity in the cottage not reliable (many shortages). I don't know what happens if there are other people camping when you get here.10 USD ppn.

Very nice place to camp ! You can use the facilities of an old cottage which are a bit run down but it has all you need ! The place and the view are really beautiful ! Only thing is that the ground is not really flat and there is a very steep track to reach the camping site.

Report Check-In

Beautiful view but the ‘cottage’ you can use for the kitchen and bathroom is very run down and I don’t think they clean it.
Staff is friendly and the area is beautiful. Don’t forget to book your Bvumba trail here (with Friends of Bvumba)!

Report Check-In

This place is just stunning. Hidden away in de Bvumba mountains, this site is nothing but peace and tranquility. You can camp next to an old chalet that you can use for shower/washing up, etc. It is very run down, but functioning. Buluwesi is a great bird guide, you can go on a tour with him for 5 dollar p.p per hour.

Report Check-In

Stunning setting with views over the Bvumba Mountains and as mentioned previously the birding here is sensational without even leaving the grounds! Camping site has access to an old chalet with electricity and hot water. the manager bulawezi is an expert on the local birds and an excellent host. local guides can also be arranged for walks in the area, we went with Charles who was very passionate about the area.

Own specious campspot in the garden of an old bungalow what you can use for bathroom and kitchen (no stove), dry living room when it rains and a veranda. The bungalow is a little bit outdated but the surrounding makes up for that.

We loved our stay here and could really recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet place surrounded by green mountains and beautiful trees. There is a short hike(30min) through the rainforests, ask the nice men at the reception to point you in the right direction.

Private garden paradise overlooking the valley and mountains.

The Manager Bulawezi is a gentleman and lovely human.

Please don’t miss this place!!!

Paradise. That’s it. Awesome hilltop camping surrounded by turaco calls and mist in the morning. All alone. Camp on lawn outside a cottage with hot showers and ablutions. Might stay a while. Seems no reason to leave.

Report Check-In

Nothing to add, stunning views to the valleys, still 10US$ p.P.

Amazing place with great view and nice colorful garden !
Showers were a bit small but still fine. We enjoyed 3 pleasant nights there. Firewood and braai stand is provided for free.

We hiked to the mountains from there and went to Tony‘s for tea.

Wooow what a beautiful spot. You have wonderful view on two valleys. You can use the two cottages for the kitchen and hot showers. It’s also a birders paradise. You can do a bird walk for 5 dollar per hour per person.

We also loved this place. We arrived by the end of the day and the weather was pretty bad (rainy and misty), so we decided to stay in one of the cottages (still 36$ per person). We didn't have a reservation, but this was no problem at all. A very friendly staff member made us a fire in the lounge, made sure we had a hot shower and we could use the kitchen to make dinner. You can also do bird walks from here, since the mountains are known for its high variety of birds. Very quiet and peaceful.

We loved this place, incredible forest and bird life. Lovely, friendly owner Sue was very hospitable. We camped on the lawn of a disused workers cottage at the end of the track, and had access to the basic bathroom (solar heated) and kitchen sink. No electricity. Very basic but perfect for us. We had nice campfires in the evening (wood provided) which was great as it was cold! Great views and walks. $10pppn.
