the entrance was rebuilt, a very nice local man showed us, there was an old path from further down, but it is full of plants

Just to get to the trailhead, if I can add. As you get to the entrance where the admission is paid, you make a right, and you will see a tienda on the right. Just past the tienda, the road splits in two, do not follow the road that goes downhill to the right tgat has a "Salida" sign. Follow the uphill road, after tge bend you will see the two trees that have been referenced as the start of the trailhead.

About 5 km to the antennas. You can apparently keep going through Alegria and then back, but I wasn’t sure how long that would take. Went down the same way.

I’ll second that people that don’t love hiking might not like this trail. Lots of overgrown parts, loads of spider webs, and some scrambling over rocks needed. It’s not a technical hike though.

Nice hour to the top, enjoying the views. 40 minutes down. Some cute puppies at the top and rogue coffee plants along the trail. Give it a few months and some of the cherries might be ripe for eating!

Very nice hike to do on the morning. Asked someone near the laguna entrance to find the entrance. Was actually very easy to find as the path has been used a lot. Went all around the rim until Algeria city. Around 10km total and very nice viewpoints.

From the laguna entry keep going for 150/200 meters more on the main road :-) … you will see on the right a trail starting between 2 trees, no sign but you can check the pictures I added.
1h15 min walk to the antenna with several stop to take pics and video

Enjoyed this hike! A little difficult to find the starting point although the location of the pin is pretty accurate. We saw lots of butterflies and a group of coati's in the trees. We also hiked the 4*4 trail back down and had lunch in Alegria before going back up the cobblestone road, took us about 4 hours all together.

moderate trail up to the view point up top. the first half is pretty exposed with little shade. the second half is nicely covered. very narrow trail, sometimes only a meter across with steep cliffs on both sides. there are people stationed up at the top that offered us water, but plan on bringing enough. I enjoyed taking the road down, for the views, but it is much longer than the trail up. nice way way to burn a few hours. this pin is pretty close to the actual location, posting a picture of the trees you walk between.
