Description

MODERATOR NOTE: This place started as a spot with wrong GPS coordinates. See first check-in for original description. 'New' description below; please update if not factual.

This place is excellent: it's a forest road with only a couple of campsites and they are very clearly defined. you can't drive off the road except on the few offshoot dirt tracks that each lead to a single campsite. There maybe 4 but it maybe only three. It's a beautiful mountainous spot with great temperature right now in mid June. I highly recommend it but I wouldn't show up at dark because I'm guessing the few spots get taken up. It's a perfectly drivable gravel forest road but it's a decent trek out to not get a spot if you are scrambling at the end of the day. I definitely recommend it but with those considerations.

Showed up after dark to one of the closer sites, there was weird writings on the trees, so we left and came to this one further in. Parked close to the road, did hear a few cars drive further up the road. Just needed a place to stay for the night, had verizon signal.

it's not open terrain, the Colorado is nowhere near and basically nothing is correct from the initial listing.

Report Check-In

I was here yesterday and the Colorado river is nowhere near here.

Report Check-In

Large BLM land. flat and open. plenty of space for all sizes of rigs and plenty of space between camps.

several plateaus for some elevation and better views of the Colorado river- beware of the terrain and what your rig is capable of, but I saw a very large skoolie parked on one of the upper ledges, so it's possible to get up if you're adamant enough!

lots of OHV trails and traffic in the day time, but it wasn't too obnoxious when I stayed. trails are also very good for hikes.

good ATT and Verizon service
