Something not right?

Description

Numbered campsite on FS RD 5000, Pisgah NF. Parking spot, tent pad, bag pole (although it was too low), and fire pit. No other amenities. Pack It In, Pack It Out. Sign on road said to only camp were an official "tent" graphic was displayed and this was the first one I came to. Also a "Warning" sign at campsite referring to possible shutdown if trash continued to be an issue. Gravel road then turns to dirt. Unfortunately I did not have time to explore further down the road (it has snowed earlier in the week and I wasn't sure about dirt road conditions).

Latest Check-Ins

There are 9 designated sites along Wash Creek FA Road. Sites 1 and 2 look best for rigs. You can park next to your site 3-9, however walk a little ways to the tent pad and fire pit.

Stayed here overnight at WC-1. Was very quite and felt safe overnight. There is a bit of traffic during the day, but as the other person mentioned it dies down at sunset. Would stay here again.

Seems great, but every site was occupied when I visited on a Monday. Took more than half an hour to drive up the rough road. Some big unavoidable potholes and pretty steep at parts given it’s dirt and rocks, but made it through in my (non-4x4) 170" WB Sprinter.

this place is open. was just here, lots of traffic over the weekends but quiet at night. This spot is WC1. WC2 is just up the road to the north, it's the only other wolf creek spot that is good for vans, the others are tent based (you can still stay at those but you'll be parking right on the road)

Nice basic camping in the National Forest w/ no amenities. I was there on a Sunday so lots of backroad traffic during daylight hours, but it died down after sunset. Road in had some pot holes, but not that bad. I was in a camper van. Overall campsite was clean; however, I did haul out a muffler that was leaning against the site sign, a few beer cans, and misc. small stuff. Doing my part to keep this site open. It's one of the few in the Asheville area. There is a dumpster at a trailhead parking area just before you turn on to FS RD 5000, but no pit toiler. I would definitely stray here again and would get there earlier and drive down the road and check out the other sites.
