Description

Stayed here 3 years ago, pretty much had the end area at of the palapas to myself, other than joggers and walkers enjoying the miles and miles of beautiful sand beach.
Stayed for a combined total of 2 to 3 weeks, coming and going. No incidents, but sand is soft out here,, by the time I'm beside a palapa with two wheel drive, I'm aired down to 15 lb pressure. 18 lb, and I get stuck.
...Watch for the locals that come for clamming, they're always happy to sell them very very fresh. just make sure you've got some lime and a good knife.
Excellent spot for launching small boats, and kiteboarding.

The way to enter is now wrong. Have Goggle maps take you in from the lower end of town.

great spot if u don’t vibe with the RV park options in the city (pretty packed, majority long term snow birds). we rolled up to this spot after dark which isn’t our norm and didn’t properly heed the “soft sand by the palapas” warning and got our small 2wd van stuck in the sand. had a wonky night sleep but luckily had a kind neighbor one palapa over with the equipment to pull us out in the morning. odd being behind the airport but was quiet and felt safe. as stated no facilities besides garbages, no one charging $$

Report Check-In

We made friends with a local that recommended this place and found it on iOverlander after. Pass the airport on a dirt road and you will find about a dozen or so palapas along the shore. Some of the pullouts are pretty sandy but we just drove down a bit further and found one that was easy to pull into with 2wd no problem. Pit toilets and good Telcel connection but there were a lot of flies in the morning. Stayed for two days and no one gave us any trouble or tried to charge us. There were some ATVs driving by in the late morning but other than that pretty quiet.

Report Check-In

Great place, free, beach front, not many people, still get internet and phone service, by the airport with an easy access and some palapas.

Buen lugar, gratuito, de facil acceso, poco concurrido por atrás del aeropuerto, muy cerca de Loreto. Playa enfrente

Report Check-In

Sites are as described. Beautiful beach with several palapas. We picked one down from the entrance road a ways, but not all the way to the end. If your google map is struggling to find a way in, enter the Sniper Gotcha Loreto and that'll put you on the road to the beach. Don't fear, it looks like a pile of burned out cars but I think it's a paintball arena.
Follow the other warnings to lock your stuff up. There were several cars running up and down the beach road late into the night. At some point in the night someone took our ancient Campfire in a Can, an uncertifiable fiberglass propane tank and a 10L water jug from our palapa.

Report Check-In

Beautiful beach just outside Loreto.
It is a bit tricky to get there as Google will get confused 😕 they are rebuilding all the roads.Eventually we found it and it was worth it, planned to stay a night and stayed two.
You can park next to a Palapa, frequented by locals during the day.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night.
Nice beach, no issues.

Report Check-In

No issues, but lock it all up. Police come by every few hours on Sunday. Come early if it's on a Sunday, the palapas we're all taken by noon. Come Monday, not a peep save some walkers and bikers.

Ummmmm. I’ve been here on and off 5 nights. No problems. Okay on Saturday night there were tons of kids on ATVs and horses running around until @11-12. But other than that the other nights have been desolate. Drive further down and it’s even more private. I’m in an SUV, so I move every day. And have stayed closer in and farther out.

Currently…. Google won’t get you there. Just keep driving around until you find the one road that’ll go out to the beach. 1/2 of The airport roads are closed. But there’s one that will take you through. Wish I could tell you how u,,,,, but I’ve winged it every time and have always made it-save a few u-turns. Definitely not for big rigs! But thoroughly worth it. So close to Loreto and yet so far away

we were told to leave my policia....no bueno

Mixed feeling on this place. The spot is awesome, we loved it. Pretty quiet. But we did get robbed. This was partially my fault, they took easy grab stuff from the truck tool box that wasn't locked and our storage area that was also not locked. No damage was done to anything. At no point did we feel unsafe. This was all done at night. Had our things been locked it would have been fine.

we stayed four nights here, coming and going into town. we had our own palapa and even on weekend nights there was no loud partying. we did not take the directions described in the comment below as we couldn't find those streets. we just took the way Google Maps told us. There is one rough patch but it's still 2WD friendly.

I was just pushed out of my campspot by locals?? They said it is theirs to use. No matter what I said (in spanish) thru did not stop building their palapa over th palapa I was camper at. There were many men and only one youmg girl. This was the first time I felt fear here in Baja. I was even thinking about purchasing property here. That will not happen now and I am on my way back to the states. Sucks this had to spoil my time here. Just know, if they want where you are, they will take it. I will never come here again.

Report Check-In

I am here again. I just read the review from the spot next to here and it talked about dogs being poisoned by class, not sure if that's true or not but another gal that was here last time also had her dog get sick and die after being here (he was old though)...still, I have a dog and that freaks me out. I will watch what goes into her mouth like a hawk while here JIC!

It is very windy, just like last time. The beach is over-full with locals (probably because it's almost easter?) that have built their own palapas and have brought tents as well. I have a 4 wheel drive so I was able to get the palapa with the deepest sand : -) . We will probably stay here until Easter (3 nights) and then head north.

Report Check-In

As previously described. No issues, 1 night stay. Very windy, but the stars and sunrise were amazing! It is a 5 min bike ride to town. The difference I would say is to use the easier entrance; corner of Dionicia Villarino and Civilizadores. it is way shorter and the entering is way easier (reg dirt road). There is a speed bump (go slow over it) and a couple ruts, but even in my Taco I would prefer this. I followed locals out, that is how I found it 😊

Report Check-In

On site 2 1/2 weeks. No disturbances beyond the occasional jogger or ATV.
