amazing view of the volcano, it was easy to get here, there is a lot of open space to park, it is not raining so we had no problem staying here. Very calm even on weekends, at least until Saturday lunch time. We notice a lot of ants, really a lot, and they bite so that was kind of annoying, but still worth the view!!

Nice place to camp but be aware if you get some really heavy rains you might not be able to get out. We were stuck an extra day as our route out completely changed over night. The bridges had water running over the top (2) and the road turned into the river.

Superb place to camp, it's pretty and very quiet. The meadow on the edge of Lake Xolotlán facing the Momotombo volcano is splendid! You will be surrounded by stunning birds, cows and horses. We bought some fish from one of the fishermen, 100C for 11 fish. The night was lulled by the sound of the waves and the song of the toads. Watch out for the ants, they bite hard!

Very nice place to sleep ! We stay one night here. Beautiful view on volcano ! We were with horses, cows, goats and birds. However, this place is dirty, a lot of garbage everywhere.

Quiet spot with a beautiful view. Slept here on a Sunday night. Friendly locals fishing until well after sunset, cooking their catch into the night with some fires. Good vibes all around. Seems very safe.

Lots of trash and lots of animals. Got super hot by 6:30am without clouds in the sky, even with doors open. Watch out for bugs at and after sunset if you don’t have bug screens!

We are 2.75m high and took out a fair amount of branches, but made it no problems.

Spent 2 nights here. Very large flat area close to the lake. Some bugs at night but nothing too crazy. Can get hot and windy during the day. Water in the lake was very hot, not really the best option to cook down on hot days. Lots of fishermen and locals come here. We get some fresh fish from one of them for few dozen cordobas. Amazing spot, felt safe.

Beautiful views, quiet, only locals fishing and picnicking on Sunday. Farm animals roam during the day, and horses hangout overnight too. Peaceful, but hot without shade options. NOTE: beware of the many low branches coming in if you're over 3m tall, and some rough road sections crossing over rivers, and a very narrow bridge likely not possible if you're wider then 7ft.

Favorite wild camp so far in Nicaragua. You can pitch your tent right next to the lake. Beautiful view of Volcan Momotombo
