Description

Nice campground with 2-3 sites for tents and 2-3 sites for small rigs! 200pesos per person per night.

The sites are surrounded by nature and stay cooler during the day.

The owners are currently building an adventure hostel using shipping containers, they have one room for rent for 950 pesos/night for 2 persons.

Cool place if you want to experience something different at just about a km to the beach! They also slow-cook bbq night on fire on Saturday night...

Would definitely stay again. Really cool and unique place (and we have seen a lot of places). The owners are slowly expanding this ecolodge / hostel / campsite. Facilities are basic but very well kept and clean. The shower is the most amazing shower you will ever see in your life! The whole property has a very cool setup and lots of nature. 2wd is fine (we have low clearance). If you are longer than 6m (20ft) you probably won’t fit. Surf boards and lessons available for rent. Dry camping only, but you can charge laptops and other stuff if needed.

Really cool eco hostel and overlander/van campground. David and Francisca are super kind hosts and had tons of great recommendations for the area. There are 3 campsites that could fit up to probably a long wheelbase Sprinter. There is a community kitchen with a fridge too so that's pretty cool! We would definitely stay here again!

If you are environmentally conscious this is definitely the type of businesses you'll be happy to support. They are using compost to fertilize the soil and planting a bunch of different plants to help the soil retain more water and clean the air.

What a find!! An amazing oasis campground/hostel. We camped down the bottom and spent a lot of time relaxing on the rooftop taking in the spectacular sunset views! Coolest garden shower and beautiful craftsmanship everywhere you look. Dave was an incredible host who helped us when we got injured and gave us great travel recommendations. We can’t wait to hopefully come back one day when Libra’s vision is complete!

This place is so GREAT! There is a no-dogs-allowed policy which means you get a peaceful night, every night. David, the owner is partway through of this incredible project in dusty Cerritos. Because of his passion to preserve the land, the entire property works WITH the land, making Libra an oasis of green. The compost toilet is turned into fertilizer and the grey water from the sinks and shower is used to water plants. The outdoor shower is such a vibe and the composting toilet feels like you are pooping in a tree house. The options for accommodations range from $300/night/person to set up your tent or park your van (3 sites for each of those available), sharing a glamping dorm room tent ($25/night), glamping in a private tent ($40USD/night), or a private room for $65/night).

The road to get down to the van parking and tent camping spots is steep with ruts but there is a back way that is much more gentle and there is no need for high clearance or 4x4. This is NOT a spot for large RV's or busses as the van spots are quite small (but private).

The hosts, David and Francisca are incredible hosts! The communal kitchen area is well stocked, there is a gorgeous terrace to work on or watch the sunset, and David even offers surfboard rentals and surf lessons. Rambo, the Libra kitty, is the cutest.

The surf beach is 2km away and is easily walkable. We didn't want to move our van every day so we opted for the walk. Even lugging around my 9-foot long board it was manageable. There is parking at the beach and the beach is a safe spot. We left belongings unattended on the beach and nobody bothered them. I wouldn't bring any valuables but rest assured that nobody is going to steal your board bag or clothes while you are surfing. Despite the beach being rated as a beginner beach, in the month we stayed in Cerritos, the surf was never smaller than head high.

Because this place is so small and intimate, it is best to contact David first to make sure there is availability. He can be reached on Whatsapp @ +52 624 117 1452

I can't wait to come back in a few years to see this project at completion!

Awesome little campground, was perfect for my small vw bus. Access to a communal area with all the amenities to cook, compost toilet and cute outdoor shower. The owners are building a project with containers and try to be as environmentally friendly as possible. David is very nice and knowledgeable of the area. Would definitely recommend for smaller rigs or camping. No dogs allowed - which was fine for me! :)

An extremely well run and very tastefully done hostile/campground. You do not need a 4 x 4 to access this place. Also, the people here are very accommodating and very laid-back. They are so generous and so just great folks and I am so glad that I ended up finding this place, even though there was a previous, not so good review. I don’t agree with any of this. I have a Toyota tundra. It’s huge. It’s bigger than any Mercedes camper van or whatever. All I’m saying is you can fit in here no problem.

It’s also very close to the beach. It’s away from the dust, the crowds, and it’s private and quiet.

What a great place and I could only hope that people can read this review… It’s a wonderful stay.

No dogs allowed. 4x4 recommended.
Rolled up today, had confirmed earlier that they’d have a spot. Entrance looks kinda dumpy. 3-4 cars and dusty out buildings. Greeted by Gina who gently but quickly let me know that the spot she had was down a steep incline and they “kinda” don’t allow dogs. She went on about their dogs, wild dogs, some loose kittens, etc. I got the not so subtle hint and left to find another place. Just wasn’t worth the hassle for the pretty awful curb appeal.

No pets allowed, this is unfortunate as the location seems great.

Great Campsite for Campervans. David and Francesca were such great hosts! They showed me where to park my van and it was one of the quietest and coolest places I had parked my van in a long time.

I got such a good nights sleep there. There is a toilet and shower at the site. There aren’t any hook-ups at the individual sites. But this place is all about getting good rest in a peaceful and quiet environment. The campsites are in a shaded area so it stays cool in the mornings and afternoons. Libra is in a private setting so if you need a day or two to just relax and reset from the road this is the place. It’s about 1km west off of the main road(route 19) and further down the road from Libra you can hit the beach and rent surfboards for a surf session. I included two photos that shows the road you turn onto to get to Libra. The first shows if you’re heading south on 19 where you turn right. The second shows if you’re heading north on 19 where you turn left. Just look for the big billboard opposite the road you turn onto. Stock up on groceries and drinks and ice and then hit up Libra for a great overnight camping experience.
