Something not right?

Description

A bunch of men and women in black uniform with guns, likely police more than army, pulled us aside, took a quick look into the car without asking us to get off the car and let us go through.

A bit before the coordinates.

Report Check-In

Tent w/ two uniformed men under it… sign indicated ‘revision de impuesto’ but we passed through w/out stopping. No other cars were stopping either.

I wasn't able to find this place.

Report Check-In

Nothing here today, there is a little tent at one of the points but no one was there.

Report Check-In

Southbound 3pm Saturday on a ?long weekend, none of the three marked inspection points here or nearby were operational. Traffic cones and rope topes plus someone under an awning who didn't look up.

Report Check-In

We were coming from Mazatlan in our 33 year old class C Rv...we look very obviously like we are not wealthy. No tow vehicles, etc. But just like happened north of the Sinaloa border in Sonora (on the toll road going through some tiny town) the black shirts pulled us over, boarded us en masse and searched me, my purse, my son and then went through the whole vehicle digging around. They asked about guns and then they asked how much money we had. We only carry X amount of peso.

Well, my son had a small amount of mota he forgot to stash in all the prep to hit the road. They found it and the games were on. You know, the shakedown. He wanted it back (medicinal) so after we convinced them we were pretty poor they took $2000 pesos off of us to give it back and send us on our way.

A hard lesson but not as hard as the Canadians in a fancy rig that got pulled over right behind us. We ran into them later on when we pulled over to gas up. They had all their thousands of pesos in one roll on the driver and he pulled it out when they asked to see how much cash they had. When he handed it back it was a full $10,000 pesos lighter.

But lessons learned! Hope this info helps someone avoid this! I'm guessing any time you are going to cross state borders in Mexico be prepared!

Report Check-In

A lot of Guardia Nacional, but nobody stopped us.

Report Check-In

Nobody’s here today, only vendors.

Aucun Check point aujourd’hui, seulement des vendeurs

Report Check-In

Single police car parked here but wasn’t stopping anyone or doing anything notable or out of the ordinary. The vehicles that were here last time we passed through were unmarked miscellaneous pickups with lights in the grille / on the back bumpers. If the check point is active you’ll know from a distance. This time there were hardly and semi trucks parked in the area and maybe 75% of the roadside vendors were in their vehicles.

Report Check-In

We drove through this point. Doesn’t look official at all, though there was a policia vehicle parked nearby.

Run down shack with a table that two or three people dressed in black were sitting at (on the left side of road). Didn’t wave us to stop.

Report Check-In

Operational today
Asked about large amounts of cash and drugs, doh or checked on smoking weed.
Totally fine, easy going and less then 10mins

Report Check-In

Checkpoint operational today, multiple police cars both north and southbound. Black shirts, no uniforms. Multiple cars being searched. We’re in a large van (2 ppl, small dog w/ dash cam). He asked where we were going, gave us a long look and waived us through.

Report Check-In

Nobody's here today only vendors and policia on the side of the road

Report Check-In

No controls here today at 1 PM. Only Vendors and some dudes chilling in the shade.

Report Check-In

They wear black clothes which say „criminal investigation“. They stopped us and searched our van. We didn’t feel that comfortable. They asked us if we have any cash and asked if we go swimming, weird questions. She even checked and touched my bra and asked again if we have any cash. They searched some cupboards and our backpacks in the car.
We were just happy when we could go, not so good experience.

Report Check-In

We went through without being stopped. I think it is cops or military but without uniform

Report Check-In

Inspektion under Brigde (Shadow). Doesnt Seems Realy Official …

Report Check-In

Sitio de inspección, me revisaron toda la
furgoneta incluso desmontaron una parte de un mueble.
Todo bien, no es policia, o no van vestidos de policia pero revisan a muchos autos y algunos camiones

Report Check-In

Still cones and ropes to slow you down and a guy at a desk checking the cars passing by. Did not stop anyone. Many trucks parked after the checkpoint for lunch.

Report Check-In

There were signs and cones to stop, just a man on a table checking on the cars passing through, no idea what for. All good, but we got a bit scared when we read everything about this place.
Stay alert

Report Check-In

Same inspection that was down a little ways, they let us go through but they were looking through bother cars.

Report Check-In

It is a valid inspection area. The just waved us through heading north. No problems.
