Description

not open for overnighting but still a pretty little local park :) This is a small parking area at the trail head without any parking restriction signs. There are guide signs and garbage cans and it is wooded mostly, but there is one residential home on the other side of a fence. I have spent two nights here without problems, even fully popped up with my camper van. The most trouble I had was teenagers coming to park there that played their music a little loudly for about an hour. The hike is nice too. Ideal picnic area under old growth live oaks in a clearing close by.

came here at like 5 and did the hike with my dogs not even an hour later after i had taken my shower i get the dreaded knock.. cop said i can’t stay here and so i told him i’ll leave here in about 15 and went to the cracker barrel:/ such a shame bc it really was a good little quiet spot.

Report Check-In

Very quiet and surrounded by nature. Arrived around 2 am and was woken up by a cop at 8 am. Cop told me I was fine as I wasn't doing anything wrong but the neighbors called them cause my van's back windows were covered so they couldn't see in.

I've stayed many times in this area. I've never had any issues. once I had a fellow traveler next door for the night as well. and always when I wake up there are people arriving with pets and children to enjoy the trail and park. peaceful nights and mornings. my favorite place to stay in Gainesville for sure.

Report Check-In

Tiny lot with trails and picnic spots in the woods.
