Something not right?

Description

A nice older campground that is close to the interstate but the stands of mature hardwoods completely block out any noise. A hidden gem if you are passing through. A basic site is just $14.00. Did not have time to check out the hiking trails or the cave. $14.00 sites do not include any water or electric although there are water spigots throughout the park.

As described by others. It was a great stopping point close to I-70. Woodsy, hot showers, flush toilets, super reasonable. $14 for a basic site ($15 paid online when we arrived and picked a site, $2 off for seniors). Can't see the highway, but it is a steady drone heard if windows are open. But can't beat it for a stop through.

Wonderful state park close to I70. There are electric sites for only $25. We stayed in $15 unserviced site and only 1 other tent a ways away in at least 16 sites available. Drives not level but as we were in pleasure way we made do as they were not that far off. Firewood available to purchase from very accommodating hosts. All sites are spacious and have fire pits. We arrived late with no reservation. And they told us pick a spot and settle up next day. Wish we had a few days here.

we stayed in the "basic" section which meant we were dry camping. we have a 28 ft. Class C without slides and we barely made it between the tree on site 29. being memorial day weekend the park was busy. a lot of young families and what appeared to be young singles. the fee was 14.00 a night with 6 dollar reservation fee. we booked for 2 nights but have changed our minds and will leave after 1 night. we were just not comfortable at this place even though there was a very formidable camp host on site.

nice park $14 w shower can check in online. There is a pretty cool cave

Report Check-In

No water/shower/flush toilets between November and April. One vault toilet at the edge of the woods. Deserted here in March.

Good stay, decent amount of campsites, reservable online. Showers are free and pretty good! Some highway noise in a tent.

nice campground off the highway. i called before i arrived and made sure i was able to show without a reservation for a normal campsite. and it is as long as you check in with the camp host, very helpful camp hosts and $12 for a basic site is great!

Report Check-In

Great camping sites and quiet, very little road noise.

Report Check-In

It's the day before Memorial Day and there are a lot of spaces available. The other campers are quiet and respectful. There's a camp host on site who's very personable and helpful. The trucks on I70 are a tad loud, but I'm happy with the location. Skip the pit toilet and walk a little farther up the hill to the flush toilets in the shower facility.

Good place, close to freeway but not much freeway noise. The campground is split into basic sites and electric sites. We paid $21 for an electric site on 10/29/20. Electric sites have 30 amp power. There is a dump station on site and also water to fill up your tank. Sites are not very level. See camp host to get a spot. Even though it says reservations are required (and can only be made up to 7pm the night before), they are not required. We were able to drive up and get a spot. All sites have a red sign that says that this site is occupied tonight but only the sites with a white paper tag with a date on it are actually occupied. Google maps doesn't have the entrance to this park right, you keep going left at the y to reach the park.

Got here at 9pm all sites have an “occupied tonight” plaque displayed but only 5 of 6 camps are actually occupied. Reservation can be made only before 7pm. Camp hosts yelled something at me from their trailer did not care to talk. So I am going to a nearby rest area instead. What a waste of time :(

Nice place!!! Could def still hear the highway so I recommended ear plugs to help fall asleep if you are sensitive.... overall nice location tho and easy access even on Christmas. Windy roads were creepy at night but I liked the aesthetic.

Awesome Campground with about 50 spots, half electric, half standard. $12-13 for standard that includes showers, water, and a dump station - you can't really beat that. They have in site laundry - one washer and one dryer that's coin operated. Showers aren't great but they get the job done and the hot water didn't run out. Boyfriend said the guys water was a little powerful though. Hosts are very nice and the area is very shaded and just off the highway. Noise from the highway didn't bother us at all.

Great little spot in the woods. $12 on a weeknight for a basic site. There are showers and laundry. Covered picnic table. Flush and pit toilets in different areas of the campground. Super close to the highway if you need to just stop somewhere for the night. A bit noisy because of that, but it gets better as the sun goes down and the trees and katydids block some of the noise. Camp host was really nice too. Definitely safe for solo female travelers!

Nice older campground. Bathrooms and showers are in need of some updates to be a really good place to camp. Hosts are very nice. Very reasonable. $11 & $12 for basic sites & showers.

Report Check-In

Very clean, very quiet campground (<10% full). A little bit of highway noise but perfectly fine. only $13 for the night. Showers were hot and good enough. Men’s water pressure was crazy high. Felt like the old sack was getting sand blasted. Camp host stated it gets busy starting following weekend.

Report Check-In

$12 for weekday and off season. $13 for weekends in on season.
Nice CG with lots of trees and shade.
Decent bathrooms with free showers.
Can still clearly hear I70.
