Naabi Gate Serengeti | Tourist Attraction

A big gate which was hugely busy with safari vehicles coming and going. Picnic areas with shaded tables, restrooms , etc. We checked out of NCA area and bought our serengeti permit here. if wanting a public campsite you have to choose one but can then change it at the tourist office in seronera if you like. The main road from here to Seronera is TERRIBLE. And actually a lot of roads in the serengeti. our bumper came loose and number plate fell off.
A nicer way to get from here to seronera is take the first right turn a few kms after the gate, this will be a longer but nicer drive over some kopjes and up.

expensive parks, and difficult to do a loop from Arusha/Moshi without crossing Ngorongoro twice, so plan accordingly. Terrible road with many washboard stretches and dangerously speeding safari Landcruisers. Make sure to not be one minute late if you don't want to risk paying another day, even more so since the location of the gate is at the bent in the road at Naabi Hills, a few miles NW of where the location on iOverlander was. With the construction going on and running around to find the correct gate, I signed out with 2 min to spare. correct location is at -2.832170, 34.997650. Once you get there, you can relax, eat, visit bathrooms or walk up to the viewpoint before paying the next park to extend the time to leave (24 or 48h after you finalize the transaction).

Be careful: If you only want to leave Serengeti NP via this gate you have to check in to Ngorongoro GR. They will tell you that there is a transit ticket. But it is practically the full amount for one day in the park, even if you are just passing through. 60 USD pp and 150 USD for every non- tansanian vehicle. What a rip-off!!!
