Description

Amazing place by a lake. Water! Makeshift fire pits, a huge trash bin, gravel lot. No garbage or trash laying around, I mean none, not even beer cans. It is really clean! You can see the dam and the state park from here. The water is clear and a beautiful color. Almost no noise from the highway, rt. 285.

Latest Check-Ins

Lots of waterfront open spaces. Good gravel roads all the way to the shore across from the dam. Nobody around. Clean.

Drove in to this spot with our 4x4 and 25 foot trailer. Room to turn around at the end of the road and in the parking lot. This is where the sign for camping directed us. The fee is $8 a night or $5 for day use and you pay at the little kiosk at the highway. We decided not to stay as the forecast was calling for snow that night and the road was driveable, but not great. Wouldn’t want to get stuck. Pretty though.

Report Check-In

Pulled onto the road and there is a guard shack for the state park and the gravel lot is closed with a chain across the road. There is camping to the right but cost is $8

Easy access with our 30’ motorhome. We stayed here for 4 days. The place was pretty clean, and it has a big dumpster.
Verizon and T-Mobile worked great!

Report Check-In

Pretty peaceful place that is pretty well kept. The turn off comes very quick, especially at night. One other RV here, they had a fire. Great Verizon service, great Starlink reception.

Several spots near the lake. Easy access even in a 40’ Skoolie.

Paid $8 and camped in the camping area down the dirt road to the right as you enter the pay station. Pit toilets and a garbage dumpster. Plenty of flat space near the bathroom for van or motor home parking.

Large level gravel area next to Brantley Lake. Nice paved road from the highway so regular cars and vans will have no problem. You can see the highway but not too much noise. Was alone all night except for one local who came by and spent about 20 minutes fishing for dinner. 5g cell signal. Large trash dump, no other services. Great overnight spot!

Report Check-In

Quiet spot by the lake. A few people fishing when I arrived at 5pm. Otherwise I was alone. Clean area, easy to get to on paved road North of lake entrance. Tons of bugs at Sunset and large burrs all over the gravel lot. Had to remove quite a few from my dog.

Nice mostly quiet location. Some more private areas is side or bigger open area for bigger rigs.
Final approach is your judgement call to make.

Report Check-In

Stayed for the night in our Ford van peacefully—had a couple of RVers as neighbors but it was all very quiet and peaceful. Great spot with full Verizon service!

Report Check-In

Great spot to park for a night! Pretty secluded and nice views. The paved road in from the highway is about a mile, right up until the gravel lot. Super easy to get to. Just note if you’re traveling from the north, there’s no left turn lane for this road so be prepared.

Report Check-In

Even with a lot of day users and campers there is lots of room to camp. We camped away from the shore, backed into som small tree/tall brush and it was fine.
