Description

Free primitive WMA campground.

This is my second year spending the winter in Georgia and this is my 5th time staying here. I am not sure if it's a WMA or not. There are no WMA signs anywhere. the sign coming into the camping area just states camping area. I have seen rangers drive by but have never been asked for a land permit or any sort of license. I have never had a ranger stop and talk to me at all. I stayed here for 3 weeks in a row last winter and no one ever bothered me. there is no bathroom, no services of any kind but if you're looking for a place to get away this is a perfect spot. I am usually the only person camping here but last year there were people that would come in during the night and be gone in the morning. so far this year I have not seen anyone else here at the campground and very few vehicles that drive the main road in.

Latest Check-Ins

Not scenic, but very quiet and peaceful, a good one night stop. One trailer already there, then nobody else. The surrounding WMA offers nice walks around camp. No amenities, good cell service.

Report Check-In

Stayed at this primitive camping area in the Di-Lane WMA. Free camping in this WMA. A bit more traffic than previously reported, with some thru traffic and a few others camping here. There is another camping area further back in the WMA if you want a quieter stay and more solitude.

great place to stay for a few days. there were manmade fire rings! there was one person on other end of campsite at first then 2 days in 2 more vehicles came, one only stayed a night then left. very quiet and peaceful. there was plenty of space between campsites. I did see a sheriff pass by the main road on one of my morning walks. will definitely be back!!

This is definitely a nice place to be on your own. No one was here on a Friday night and haven’t heard or seen anyone else. The only downside was being woke up at 6am to shooting practice. It wasn’t so close but it went on for an hour or more. I would still come back as it was very peaceful otherwise. Two to three bars with AT&T and Verizon with a booster.
