This is actually a hostel. Toilets, water use of kitchen. Rooms also available. Directly on the beach. We parked in a lot. $5 per day. The owner Chello was very friendly and helpful. A few people each day, not busy even on weekends. We arrived on a holiday the only time it got busy. Cello does not tolerate loud music and parties. Great beach, you can walk a long time in both directions. Calm and not busy. Electricity if you have an extension.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Pros: Cheap. Huge beach, miles of nice walking especially at low tide. Did we mention cheap?

Now let's get real. Las Lajas is not exactly a can't miss destination(at least during low season). Very quiet, much of the town run down or closed. One of us ended up here by mistake backpacking 7 years ago and we came back to re-live it.
Now, on this camp-spot in particular. It has been "under construction" for at least 7 years, talked to the owner back then while searching for a place to stay. It is not an actively functioning hostel. It is quite run down, bathrooms/showers are pretty rough, water was working only part of the time we were there, lights in the bathrooms were not functioning any of the time. Camping in pretty tall grass next to the building means buggy - worst in Central America so far.
tl:dr - cheap, run down, nice for a visit if you are into dystopian beach town scenes.
Report Check-InGreat spot for a nights stay! The beach is beautiful but the bathrooms aren’t super clean. The showers we never used. But only $5/night (for 2 adults and 1 child) for a beach site you can’t beat it!
Report Check-InNice location directly at the beach. Hotel and restaurant are „under construction“ and allow campers to stay here. Beach is clean and palapas are on site, sites to camp are partly shaded. Basic showers are also provided.
We stayed three nights and paid 5$\night all in.
Nice beach access. Chelo is really sweet and he's working to make his place a nice hostel. He takes great pride in his work. He's built everything there on his own. He has a restaurant, though you wouldn't know it unless you asked. His food is mostly seafood, whatever was caught that day and chicken. We tried the food and it is delicious and reasonably priced! We camped out for the night and woke up to beautiful ocean views. We came on a Saturday and there was a lot of foot traffic at night and off in the distance you could hear the bass of some really loud music, but it was far enough away that if you wore ear plugs it wasn't a problem. Cold water showers and it's refreshing after being hot all day long, but you need to ask Chelo or one of his workers to turn the water on for you. The days are hot, but there are palapas and ample shade from surrounding trees, and the night cooled down enough that we used our sleeping bags. Cell phone reception is good if you need it, and there are two friendly dogs that live onsite who love to sleep and occasionally want you to pet them.
Chelo speaks Spanish and English.
This entire area of the beach is a big camp area, Chelo charges $5/per night not per person per night to camp, I don't know about all the others.
Report Check-InGreat extremely polite owner. We camped for 5 usd per night, water, toilet, great beach. Of all the playa lajas strech by faar the best, we drove from one end to another, the north end us blocked by gate after the residential area, on the sputh, ypu can find one to 2 wild camping spots. At other places guys will ask for 20usd per night with absolutely nothing offering. Also, he is one of few that has space in his land for cars higher than these shadow roofs (picnic spots) that are everywhere...
Report Check-Inwhat a great place!

no super near by, so come with lots of food and stay long. it's a quiet place, even on weekends.
they don't accept parties and loud music.
very recommended
Such a nice guy. We had a great chat and the beach is nice as well. Good stop after the border. Pet friendly, but not all dogs on the property are too friendly so keep an eye out.
Report Check-InWe stayed 2 nights, the place is quiet and safe.
Showers and bathrooms clean.
The beach is a little brown because it has been raining these days, long beach where you can enjoy sunset and walking.
We could enjoyed from the beach one day, although.
Great place to camp! Super close to the sea. Yussuf is super nice owner who is helping everywhere he can. Nice place to stay a couple of days. Weak cell phone signal. No wifi
Report Check-InThe new host is called Yussef and he is very kind and attentive. He is a good cook and would be happy to prepare food for you if you asked. We loved this place and thought $5 p/p was very reasonable. Right on the beach, plenty of sheltered tables to protect you from the rain with electricity, water, showers and toilets.
Report Check-InHad a nice one night stay. Low pressure cold shower. Clean toilet. Quiet, felt safe. Nice view of the beach. Would stay again.
Report Check-InVery nice place just in front of the beach. The beach was just perfect for bodybording. Kids loved it.
Flush toilets, cold shower. Nice English speaking owner.
In rainy season you can sit under the roof which is just perfect.
Parking right next to the beach. Friendly owner and place undergoing refurbishment. Basic toilet and shower. $10 per night for camper with 2 people with electricity.
