Lots of primitive campgrounds available throughout Sand Flats. $15/night, definitely seems to stay fairly busy during peak times.
Stayed in the very small "F" campground a couple nights, and a couple others in "J."
Nice, one step above full-on boondocking. Main roads were all in decent condition, it seems they grade them regularly to try to cut down on washboard. Some of the campgrounds require more clearance or 4wd.
Report Check-InGreat spot, had loop D all to ourselves, almost eerily quiet. Don't just stop at the first campground you see because the phone service is better here and theres more trees. Surprisingly cool in summer, up high with nice breezes and there's even a couple shady spots. $15.
Report Check-InReally cool place! My boyfriend and I camped here for 3 days, and loved having access to the different hikes/trails. Also, really convenient that it’s 5 minutes away from town!
Report Check-InGreat camping spot. Level sites with picnic table and fire pit. Pit toilets and garbage bins. No water. Same cost as BLM. 5G cell reception.
Report Check-InBesides Alcove, there are three other campgrounds here. More than 100 sites total, no electric, no water, no dump. Price is the best one in Moab area: 15 bucks a night. Accept credit cards at the gate, accept dogs, is quiet at night, picnic table and firepit. Loops C and D have better T-Mobile service, was able to hotspot fine with my phone. 9 mins from town.
Report Check-In15$ pay at station also Visa, huge area, lots of noise because of ATVs and generator, Park views are spectacular
Report Check-InDatura campground. $15 to stay. Gorgeous views, quiet, two bars Verizon here - the lower letters don’t have service
Report Check-InBig place - 140 spaces in Loops A through J. We liked C-8. Sites nicely spaced with some privacy. Beautiful view of the La Sal Mountains.
The pit toilets are exceptionally clean.
