Really good free camp area with ponds, portapotties, lots of fishing. Camp spots(15 of them) are marked and most have picnic tables. All sizes of rvs here. Reservations required with st Charles parish parks, it’s free and onl requires an online form and a copy of your drivers license.
There are also around 15 long parking places
Gators are in the pond near the entrance which is near the mountain biking trailhead.
Gas station is a short walk away.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Nice spot to camp, permit does take a couple of days, but I stayed without one and had no issues!
