Something not right?

Description

We stopped at Mangos and found it very dark and possibly buggy so we took a drive around Jaco and found this campsite not to far away and closer to the downtown strip. It's a big place with many sites, with tables and power at power poles. The bathrooms and showers could use some work but hey we are in Central America. We paid 10000 col/night for 2 of us. They have security all night.

Despite the excellent location, this campsite is completely neglected, bathrooms are additionally dirty, infrastructure is old. In addition, very close to the campsite there is a party house that keeps the sound loud throughout the night.

We were looking for a place where we could stay a little longer. It definitely isn't. Apart from the unobwarted, dirty bathrooms, it is probably not as safe as the manager first claimed. He himself claimed that we hadn't paid yet and that in front of all his friends, who always make loud music on weekends. We just wanted to park our camper one night(to make a trip without it) , and should still pay the price for 2 people. Afterwards, the manager said that the responsibility is too great because it would be so dangerous.

Quite a noisy place with music from several surrounding bars. WiFi was a bit week away from the entrance. We paid CRC 9000,- for two people. We had a great dinner at the sushi and tapa place right across the road.

Place is kinda lame. Just has a offputting vibe. My extension cord was stolen in the night. Not recommended mainly for security issues.

Large camping area 1/2 block from beach. Bathrooms ok. Secure, nothing too pretty, but decent place. Good location to everything. Prices are posted at reception hut area so we had no haggling over price. 4K per person. 4yo not charged.

Paid 4000 pp. Theyndidn’t mention the car. But we are a small VW and no electricity. We only stayed here because of the laundryservice just outside on the main street. It was friday night and very noisy. A lot surfactivties.

Stayed here two nights in our small van and paid 8000 per night after negotiation down from 10k (4k p.P. and 2k the vehicle). As it was a bit rainy the owner offered us to park below the small rooft which gives us shade as well. The place itself was clean and we were the only ones from thursday till saturday. The facilities are old but more or less ok. It's close to the beach and safe. Furthermore they have good WiFi, password is: july2013. There is also a good Sushi Restaurant in front of the campsite.

Owner was very arrogant and not helpful. He wanted 4000$ per person and same for each kid plus 2000$ for the vehicle. We said we found this expensive for only one night since we got there at 5pm to leave in the morning and he was not willing to negotiate so we left. He laughed at us with his buddy...definayely does not deserve overlander business!!!

We paid 7000 per night for our bus with two persons with electricity. Super quiet during the week and a little crowded during the weekend but quiet after ten at night. No wifi at the spots but two available at entrance. Passwords are: julian06 for GRANIZADOS EL CAMPING (really at the entrance) and jaco2727 for 'Jaco Rustico' (restaurant left to entrance). Staff was friendly and showers and bath rooms clean enough. Beach is around the corner and so are a lot of shops and a supermarket.

Stopped here but didn't stay. 4000C pp was not unreasonable you but 5000C for power was! It was pretty busy with locals in tents being a Saturday and was noisy so close to main drag.
