Description

This is a truly awesome area for BLM camping, one of the last tree stars for sure.

Miles of primitive road but drivable. Some areas more soft/wash-like but plenty that are firm enough for any vehicle. There are some other more long term type RVs but for the most part it's apparent that they prioritize keeping it tidy and that's way cool. But you can find spots farther away up Wheeler Rd for something more remote. The whole area starts at only about 1 or 2 miles from town so also very convenient. Lots of joshua trees and rock formations, pretty cityscape view at night. Good Verizon signal. If you're in an RV I would not recommend going thru Higgins Rd as the other listings suggest because it's got a few sketchy areas like ditches that may be hard to maneuver so instead I'd suggest one of the other several roads that will take you directly to Wheeler rd if you just open maps you can see them.

out on Wheeler pass road. lots of areas to pull off the road. good gravel. gravel's been pilled high on both sides except where they want you to pull in. full sun but breezy. 3 bars Verizon. short ride into pahrump.

nice spot overlooking Pahrump city. just off the road, room for only one vehicle, somewhat level. nice burm gives a little privacy from the road, traffic is very light. not a while lot of spots up here.

Stayed a night a little up the road from here. Lots of people out here but I was able to find a spot right off the road with hard packed rock and a fire pit out of site from others. Quiet night all you hear are the burrow once n a while. Great att signal and nice views.

Gorgeous sunset and sunrise - and beautiful stargazing. We got onto Wheeler Pass Road via maps app and kept going until we found a side “road” that looked good for our 28’ Class C and parked there. Definitely seems sketchy close to town but push on and you will find a great spot!

Agreed with how awesome it is out here! Desert condition. Lots of level ground. Gravel roads in are ok. High clearance for path to camp spot. Romantic setting: sunset view, flickering city lights, calm ambience. IGNORE the trash, broken glass, and bullet shells on the ground. Focus on how nice this area is: close enough to town but not hearing the traffic noise.

I was able to order from the local Chinese restaurant to be delivered out here via Caviar (by using the plus code address from Google Maps). First time doing this. Gave them directions for road conditions, met them on the main road (Wheeler Pass) with a big smile, and a big tip for coming out here! Would have given them a big hug too for making this possible. I love our modern day conveniences!! \ \(^-^)/ /

nice quiet place, great views, a bit cold now due to high altitude

Would work for a motorcycle or atv. Not exactly a place where a rv could be without doing lots of damage
