This road around the lake is blocked by a gate indicated as Protected Area. To the left of the gate is a large lawn-like area with a few fire pits and surrounding trees for shelter and firewood. The closed gate means there is no passing traffic and I spent three nights in solitude with nature. A couple of cars drove up to tge gate but immediately turned round and left. There is no sign indicating no through road until arriving at the gate.
I drank the lake water without any health issues. I also left the camp unattended to pick up groceries at the store at the end of the road in the town. It's a perfect spot for relaxing.
Along the lake shore, there are plenty of waterside options for camping but they seemed a bit more visible, although I saw no traffic.
