We spent 2 nights at 2 different spots in Kendall Campground. We enjoyed both. The soothing sound of the creek flowing was great for sleeping in our roof top tent. We had decent Verizon cell phone service which was a huge plus. The only thing that would’ve made it better was if the toilet had been open. We were there in early June and it still had a sign on it saying “Closed For Season”. Luckily we had our portable with us. The other negative was that someone who came in after us parked in the drive blocking us from getting out of our site the next morning. Would definitely camp here again!
Report Check-InWe pulled in late afternoon when we couldn't find anywhere else to camp in Silverton or on this road. Wedged ourselves in near the entrance, there are a lot of people here however we've spoken to 2 regulars who said this is nothing. Easily can be 100 vehicles parked along the river in summer.
Bathrooms and good internet. Other than that decent for a night or if you're in a pinch but I can't imagine camping here long term unless you like being close to other people.
Report Check-InLots of options here from large gravel lots to small, somewhat private spots under the trees. We camped at the end of the road and were by ourselves. More river sound than highway. Decent cell service. Pit toilet at entry.
Report Check-InThese are not individual campsites but simply large clearings in the forest. All 3 campgrounds in this area are the same. If you proceed up the road approximately one mile look on your right for a sign that says Bear Campground. There is a small road (only vehicles can access this site) that goes up the hill into the forest. There's room for maybe 2 truck campers. Excellent Verizon service everywhere here.
Report Check-InFree campsites right outside Silverton, campground sign on the right, pretty good gravel road. There are some spots under the trees with fire rings, and some other closer to the river but less secluded.
There are a couple of other options for free campsites if you proceed on this road. One is right before the bridge, and the other right after the bridge.
