Latest Check-Ins

Have spent a couple of nights here. There's a night guard for the ecopark/pond area. Not sure if that'd help anyone in the parking lot, but it's something. Doesn't feel unsafe, anyway.
Not entirely quiet in the night. A lot of trucks using their engine brakes throughout the night, and the major truck traffic starts before dawn. Not the worst, but did wake me up a bit both nights.

Parking lot does get some use during the day. Not much, but enough that someone took it upon themselves to move my starlink dish from immediately adjacent to the side of my vehicle (as in almost touching) to the back of my vehicle. There were dozens of open spots, but whatever, if you're here, keep your stuff extra tidy.

Would (might) stay here again, especially for when I need to run my solar and starlink, and not pay to camp if I'm just going to be working all day.

Cops came and parked right next to me at about 10:30am and just hung out there for a while. I think maybe being behind my large van gave them a private spot to take a break. They just hung out, did their thing, and left without saying anything.

at night quite, next to the road, lost place, colletivos to the Center 8PpP, fits for every rig, nobody there to ask, police sometimes around but do not border us, no waste bin, non portable water at oxxo/Peter around the corner

Given that there are not really great options to camp close to the city for big rigs (we are 9m long and 3.85m high and would definitely not have fit into the RV park in town), we decided to give this spot a try - and ended up staying for 4 nights. The recreation park this parking lot belongs to seems to be closed currently, so there was not much cars getting in and out the lot. At the end we were 4 campers though. Police was patrolling regularly and also it seems it was their meeting place during breaks. Nobody bothered us and two guys that were working on the plants around said it would be fine to park. Yes, it is next to a main road, but it was actually pretty quite at night. Definitely recommend this spot if the RV park is not an option but one still wants to camp close to the center. Easy to catch taxis or collectivos on the main road - takes about 10-15 minutes to center.

Spent a cool and quiet night here - came late after sunset. In the morning we saw that the place appears rather unkempt. Not sure it is still officially in use, open access, however.

Clement's description is accurate. Large level place. Privacy & distance to road are good. Just a few minutes into town. Highly recommended !
