Something not right?

Description

We had planned to stay in Custer State Park but were having trouble with the reservation system. Decided to head towards Hermosa and found this place at the intersection of Hwy 79 and Main Street. They said we could absolutely overnight in the gravel parking lot behind the centre in line with the employee cars. We are a small van. Larger vehicles would have to park in the side gravel lot where the big rigs park. I would call ahead to make sure it's okay during the high tourist season. It was a quiet night and we had our fan going so that always helps. 12 miles from the Custer State Park visitor centre. Great reception with T-Mobile.

went to the gas station and asked to park, they had no problem, all they asked was that I don't leave the vehicle unattended for over 24 hours. won't be a problem for me as I need my car to get around. the gas station is open 24 hours so you have access to a bathroom at any time.

Report Check-In

We checked with the staff if we could stay and they confirmed as long as we were on the gravel sections of the parking lot to the back and side of the service station it was fine.
There is a small self service coin operated laundrette (which we used), casino and bar attached to the service station.
The trucks are likely to be running generators overnight but other than that it was a safe functional park-up.

Report Check-In

We called and were told she didn’t think we could spend the night. She said they only allow parking for a couple of hours. It was about 4 pm when we called. If we had called later or talked to someone else it might have been different.

We stayed here after seeing a movie at Roy’s Drive-in. Definitely recommend checking out a movie if you’re in the area and staying here was very convenient. We parked on the dirt patch off to the side. It was very quiet and weren’t bothered.
