Mexico
My belt and tensor went out on my promaster and I was having issues with power steering, ignition, and ac. I also needed a oil change, general inspection, and tire rotation.
The tensor for my promaster did not exist in mexico and the only solution was pay 700 usd and wait two weeks. I asked if they could find a better solution and after calling and poking around, they found a brand new one off a jeep with same engine for 250 usd, to be installed the next day.Total I spent about 350 usd for the new belt, tensor, and 6l of good synthetic oil and the installation. I provided filter.
With belt off, it was not safe to drive so I camped on street out front. Zero issues.

Mercedez-Benz Service Center. We needed an oil change for our 2022 4x4 170 Sprinter and they serviced it for about $250Cad which is over $100 cheaper than the Canadian dealership. Good stop for those planning to go further South and want a reliable legitimate service place. Ricardo speaks great English and very courteous as he served us coffee in the AC lounge room. We also learned that Puerto Vallarta MB dealer no longer sells cars and SuV but only Sprinters from now on. So they will know a thing or two about these rigs.
Report Check-InFirst mechanic I’ve stopped at since crossing over from Baja. Didn’t love them. They more of a business and less of a backyard mechanic. I tend to like the backyard mechanics better because they let you help and are passionate about the rig. Prices seemed normal to me though. They did take awhile to get the work done while not answering many questions. They also refused to change my front dif oil as they said “it’s not important and too hard to do.”
180p per liter of oil
180p for oil filter
120p for grease
348p for labor
Hate to be a downer but I figure I’d be honest in my review
Report Check-InMy oil light went off, thankfully just 15min from here. They were busy but helped me out right away when I told them it's not routine but kinda urgent and am in the road.
