Description

Cafetalera Don Nery is at the top of the hill with a gorgeous view. And if you continue down the hill, you’ll arrive at a flat grassy area where you can camp. You are surrounded on all sides by hills and coffee plants. So many bird sounds and sightings, and I even saw a capybara in the brush. There is a metal building with a cold shower in one room and toilet in another. Toilet paper provided, and both rooms are very clean. The whole property is well-kept. There are flood lights that are on automatically from 7-11 pm (we didn’t find them bothersome). The owner offered us a remote for the lights, but we didn’t mess with it. Lots of coffee workers passing by on foot and by vehicle, but they were all friendly and we felt very comfortable. It is a steep, gravel hill to get up and down. Packed-out overland vehicles without 4x4 will have to work hard to get here, but I know you can make it because I saw all the local vehicles doing it. They don’t require you to contact ahead of time, but here are some contact methods if needed: Cafetalera Don Nery: 6998-6414 Instagram @cafetaleradonnery Gabriel Castillo (son of owner): 6792-7455 (speaks English) If you want the coolness of Boquete outside the sounds and bustle of the city, this place is so perfect. 7usd week 10usd weekend.

Latest Check-Ins

A place where sleep, not a camping. it's just a small grass area not completely flat and toilet and cold shower. The place just not fence but I felt relatively safe, a lot of workers because was coffee season. The worst, see kids working collecting coffee. price 7usd Monday -thursday. 10usd Friday - Sunday. It's the more expensive camping I've been in my year traveling from Mexico to Panamá (even in CR campings Can be cheaper if you search).

The prices off the coffee shop are crazy, the cheapest expresso 2$ and the American coffee 3usd... till 8 $ for a coffee. In boqueron normal coffee 0.40cent, really good coffee 1$.

I think it is not worth it, but not more options around, maybe just the camping before the Quetzal track. If you are traveling by caravane or similar, check the free spots around the river that you'll see in the app.

Report Check-In

really nice camping spot, center is far but easy reachable by bus (last bus back to camping is around 7pm). close to the volcano. Payed 5$ for one person with tent.

Report Check-In

did not stay, looks nice though! road looked a bit risky for 2WD in approaching rain. wanted to add aerial view of the spot from the cafe into the valley (spot is the lawn pretty much centred in picture)

Report Check-In

10 usd per person kids free. two cars or five tents. toilet, shower and sink. fire place two. at the end of bosquete, fresh nights!!!! ask for keys at cafe.
