One lane of the bridge is already open. There is is the classic “siga/pare” staff controlling the traffic. Everyone passes, motos, mototaxis, us (VW Kombi t2), even a huge loaded truck before us. Free of course. Ferries are docked empty underneath.
Report Check-InBridge is open for 1ton cars
We took the ferry for 40 (vw t4)
Super easy and quick
The bridge is old and blocked on both sides with mounds of earth that has vegetation growing on top, so has been like this for a while. No signs of construction.
30 soles for a Land Cruiser. Locals pay too
We have been asked for 30 soles (we are 4x4). I asked for a factura, and have been given an electronic shop receipt, for 30 soles...
Report Check-InYou can pass the bridge if you're coming by motorcycle or bicycle.
Report Check-InSorry but it is not free, a small car as to pay 20 soles and a van or 4x4 it is 30 soles. Don't know for trucks.
Report Check-InComing into Puerto Pizano from the north on the PE-5N you can see the bridge is blocked (seems to have been like this for a while). Make a left turn before the bridge and then a right turn on the next junction - there are no signs, just follow the trucks. An unpaved road leads down to the ferry boats. On either side of the river it's about a 35-40% grade but okay to get up and down the short stretches. Ferry is free but the locals on board are trying to get money out of you. A woman wanted to charge us 40 Soles (10 US$) for the 2 minute crossing and said the car in front of us paid 20. BS! There are 2 ferry points on either side and the ferries are large enough for all vehicles incl. 18 wheelers.
