Description

Sizeable car park at the entrance to the lovely 'park' (see associated comments). Very dark, very peaceful, surrounded by the park and hotels. I met one of the group who manage the park and she assured me that it was a very secure area; felt safe.

Somebody from the lodge opposite came with a torch to look over the car park and close the gates between 9 and 11pm on each of the three nights I spent here; saw me but didn't look concerned and left me to my own devices. Not sure what time the gates open but there were always a couple of cars around by 8 or so am - it was much busier during the weekend.

Space for big rigs if you can make the slightly narrow turn in (it's not too bad but I saw a small bus struggle). No facilities.

owner (I think her name was Jeniffer) has a motel across the road, she approached to let me know that overnight camping is not allowed in the parking lot. She was nice and very friendly. I had already setup my tent and taken a shower in the spot lol...ended up leaving

stayed here, nice quiet night. Great T Mobil cell signal. The parking lot is open late. You may kids drive in late and drive out.

What a wonderful place to stay while visiting Alamos. It’s surrounded by big trees, lots of colourful flowers, butterflies etc and it’s so quiet!!
We brought bikes so could easily ride into town in about 5 minutes. It’s an easy walk as well.
It’s worth it to hike up to at least one of the miradors in the park. We chose Tortuga and had a lovely view of town and the surrounding area.
There’s no facilities so you will have to have your own bathroom in your rig but there is a garbage can just outside the gates of the parking lot.
We are staying in town a few more days but chose to move over to the lovely campground called Rancho Acosta. There’s a pool, hot showers, wifi and water for $200 Mx for two people in a van or a little extra if you want electricity. We figured it was worth the splurge to relax at the pool for a few days and leave with an empty toilet and a full water tank!
