Description

Large parking lot on the water with no signs (nearby streets have no overnight parking signs). A few random homeless looking people walked by in the evening and morning but ignored me.

Mostly level spots and quiet after bedtime (moderate car traffic until 10p or so).

Great waterfront parking for sunset and coastguard practice in the morning.

A great spot. waterfront parking for sunset and then coast guard training maneuvers this morning! WOW! thanks ioverlander contributors and Eureka people for not making this illegal.

Report Check-In

Spent 3 nights here, no problem, multiple campers.

It's pretty quiet but a very popular spot at all hours. Mostly ppl just chilling in their cars.

It seems safe enough but I took a long walk the last day & it def got sketchy a block or 2 away.

Kind of level spots, good signal (att&tmobile), trash cans, & a lovely view.

It seems to be perpetually fall in Eureka tho so bundle up. It stayed in the low 50s the whole time...in June.

Stayed here last night in the parking lot next to the street. No problems. Police drove by a couple times while setting up, but had no interactions. At least 9 other travelers here, along with locals. Beautiful water to look at. We were out by 7:30, as it is a business at opens at 8:30. Close to gas, food, and shopping. Seems like a pretty upscale area. There are locals in the area that caused zero issues.

Large parking lot near Warfinger Marina. Enjoyed a beautiful sunset and quiet night. No problems. A few vans and SUVs all night but no noise. Felt safe. 5 bars T-Mobile. Not sure about bathrooms in building as I have one in campervan.

Report Check-In

There were a few vans here. It was pretty quiet. I like it. I left 03/06/2024 and I didn’t have any trouble. I don’t wake up early around 3pm and I never got bothered. I was quiet so that could factor in. I have 2 dogs and a cat. In Total I was there 9 days.
I enjoyed the little town of Eureka.

Report Check-In

Quiet night. Just as described. We stayed one. Night. Got here by 10pm and left around 9am.

Please notice this is the Marina parking lot. Not the street… if you go down the street there are many homeless in cars, rvs.

Report Check-In

Seems like a quiet spot to park for the night. I didn't see any "no parking " signs. Full wifi bars

Report Check-In

There was a (private?) party going on in the Marina which ended around 12.30am but besides that it was quiet and no interruptions. Also, great AT&T signal

Report Check-In

Decently alright, I learned to not park close to others due to bumping music and such. Stayed a night, didn’t have any crazy encounters, left around 11am. There’s a few lots down the road if you’re trying to vegetate a bit, no overnights at those ones, just decently close to downtown

Report Check-In

Great place to park overnight. There were quite a few campers near by. Could probably stay a couple of nights. Fits larger schoolies. Public bathroom close by downtown. A little noisy at night but overall good campsite. Dog friendly.

Report Check-In

We slept here for two nights in a 35ft skoolie. We were woken on day two to some people setting up for an event, so we slowly started getting ready and were eventually told to move by a rather aggressive police officer.
Regardless, it's a very good spot. There are definitely a bunch of car campers around and a few houseless, but nothing that made us feel unsafe. If they didn't have an event at the marina or we hadn't dwadled, I don't think we would've had our talk with the police.

Beautiful sunset views too!

We stayed here, the Target spot, and the Sequoia Park street spot. This one felt the least safe. I personally wouldn’t stay here if I was a solo female. There are homeless addicts staying here and are up late into the night doing strange things. None of them bothered us luckily.

The homeless seem to stay toward the end of the long lot.

There are signs posted down the parking lot that say “no overnight 10p-6a” but local enforcement clearly doesn’t enforce it because many of us were here overnight.

Report Check-In

I was happily spending a whole week here and I was feeling good about the city obviously knowing that van people stay overnight and currently let it happen. people park with one or two spaces in-between vehicles. Unfortunately I was targeted by what I'm guessing was a tweaker outside my van shouting about how he was going to smash my window to get to my keys. I no longer feel safe after my experience.

Just as described :) pretty chill spot. Decent view of boats coming and going after dark, if you park facing the water. Good view while cooking dinner and having some wine.

We did see someone else in a different lot close by, setup with their pop up and all, the spot was closer to the marina and looks nice, decided to stay here as we weren’t in the mood to risk being disturbed.
