iOverlander cannot verify if wild camping is permitted at this location. It is your responsibility to verify local laws or obtain consent before staying the night.
The drive is easy, no 4x4 needed and at the end, there are some smaller water pools and space for r.a. 20 cars.
Downside was, that in the evening dozens (!) of trucks came here to fill up hundreds of thousands of liters water.
So expect lots of noise and Diesel pollution.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Exactly as described in the previous check-ins. Park on the plateau if you want to stay quiet and expect quite some people, even midweek.
If you want to go till the end of the canyon you must climb a couple of big boulders using a rope. The water trucks start to arrive at about 6pm and go on all night! We slept one night without problems, on the second day at 5.30 pm a car arrived (kind of rangers) and told us to leave for the night. During the day no issues. Definitely avoid if raining, the wadi is very deep and narrow.
Not possible to camp anymore. There is big sign at the entrance and in the wadi saying that it's prohibited to camp.
The drive is very nice and the walk on the left side is beautiful. Lot of little pools to have a bath.
Very busy when we where there. Couldn't park at the end. Better to stop at the little plateau on the right side just before the end of the track and walk.
Report Check-InBefore the end of the wadi there is a plateau on the right sight (small way up between the wall). It's a better place to stay overnight, because there a not so many people and you don't get the diesel pollution from the trucks. But you can still hear them.
The toiletts on the abdomend restaurant are still working.
On the right sight of the wasi is a freshwatertank which is fill from the mountain. It is not a proplem to fill up your 200 liter tanks for free.
And be aware of the food stealing monkeys.
