Following friends recommendation we booked our trip through Botswana Footprint. What a mistake that was.

1. The person we got in touch with (Heili) was extremely rude and harsh in her communication.
2. She openly lied to us pretexting everything was fully booked. However, due to car break down we had to move some reservation (which was impossible from what Heili kept on saying). Going straight to the NP we could easily move our reservation, and we met almost nobody in the “fully booked” NP.
3. We asked for specific campsites which were again “fully booked”. Literally 2 days before going to the alternative campsite proposed by Botswana footprint (well they didn’t really gave us a choice…) we met a couple of overlanders who managed easily to book the campsites we requested only 2 days in advance.

My supposition is that they don’t get the same commission on all the campsites, and literally force you to take the one with the best commission rate, pretending it is all “fully booked”.

I really can’t recommend these guys.

This is the office of Botswana Footprints. They were able to help with the reservations for the parks, Kalahari, Chobe, Makgadigadi, Maremi... They do charge 550 P for the service (independent of number of people and length of trip), but trying to organize a route through all the parks with the limited availability and that many different agencies involved (park service, bigfoot, other private camps), we found it quite helpful.
